The Ascadian Isles are a fertile agricultural region of islands and peninsulas in southernmost Vvardenfell.
The region encompasses land as far south as Ebonheart, west to the Foyada Mamaea, north to the central Ashlands just past the Fields of Kummu shrine, and east to the large Daedric Shrine of Ald Sotha.

The Ashlands are a forsaken ash desert in the areas surrounding Red Mountain.
It encompasses land from the Urshilaku Camp on the northern shore of the Sea of Ghosts, west to the Redoran Council seat Ald'ruhn, then south to where the slopes of Red Mountain level off into the lava-fields of Molag Amur. The southern border runs on an approximate line from Foyada Mamaea near Balmora, to the southern border of the Grazelands.

Azura's Coast is a region of rocky islands and peninsulas on Vvardenfell's eastern coast.
The Azura's Coast region consists mainly of the extensive islands off the south-east and east coasts of Vvardenfell. It includes all the southern islands east of the Daedric ruin of Ald Sotha, and extends north to include the islands up the eastern coast. It includes three small peninsulas on the southeastern corner of the main island of Vvardenfell, where the Shrine of Azura is found.

The Bitter Coast is a swampy and poor region along Vvardenfell's west side.
The Bitter Coast lies between the mountains of the West Gash to the east and the Inner Sea to the west. The northern boundary of the region is generally considered to be marked by Khartag Point, just north of Gnaar Mok, and it follows the coast south and eastward through the tiny fishing/smuggling village of Hla Oad, the Imperial outpost at Seyda Neen, and finally merging into terrain more reminiscent of the Ascadian Isles just west of Vivec City.

The Grazelands are the pastoral heartland of Vvardenfell.
On the northeastern corner of the island, these grasslands extend from the ancient stronghold of Falensarano north to the coast above Tel Vos. To the east, the Grazelands stretches to the coast, and the islands of Zafirbel Bay. To the west, it is bounded by the forbidding steepness of the mountains of the Ashlands. Current Ashlander settlements in the area are the Ahemmusa Camp in the north, and the Zainab Camp to the south.

Molag Amur is distinguished from the northern Ashlands by the presence of lava pools and rivers on the surface.
The region stretches from just east of Balmora clear to the eastern coast, and from the Grazelands south to Molag Mar. Roads mainly consists of foyadas, volcanic ravines, leading east and north to the important pilgrim sites of Mount Assarnibibi and Mount Kand.

Mournhold, "the city of light and magic", is a Temple city inside the capital of Morrowind, and the heart of this larger city, Almalexia, named after the goddess. Mournhold is located on the southeast mainland, in the district of House Indoril.

Red Mountain is a vast volcano that dominates the island of Vvardenfell in Morrowind.
In this wasteland of deep ravines, so-called Foyada, and lava pools, blighted monsters run free and the minions of Dagoth Ur, so-called Ash Creatures roam the land. The Foyada Mamaea leads from Ghostgate to the Moonmoth Legion Fort near Balmora, and an unnamed foyada follows the Ghostfence northwest to Ald'ruhn. Just north of the Ghostfence is the lost Dunmer fortress of the Sixth House, Kogoruhn.

Sheogorad is a wild region of islands and peninsulas surrounding Sheogorad Island off Vvardenfell's northern coast.
The port town of Dagon Fel is the only real settlement in the region. The main body of the Dwemer ruin of Mzuleft is south of the town, separated by walls and a steep range of hills, but the Dwemer towers and ruins are virtually part of the eastern town, and extend to the island to the north.

Solstheim is a large, snow-covered island to the northwest of Vvardenfell.

The West Gash is a rocky, highland region in western Vvardenfell that is rich in minerals.
The region is one of Vvardenfell's largest contiguous areas, stretching from just south of Balmora, the district seat of House Hlaalu, to as far north as Khuul and the shores of the Sea of Ghosts. The West Gash lies between two mountain ranges, west of the Ashlands and east of the Bitter Coast.
