Poll: "Morroskyrim" vs "Skywind"
This might not seem really important at first, but I think we definitely need to agree on what we're going to call the Morrowind to Skyrim project, just to keep things clean, organized, and also to get our name out there.
So it looks like the two main candidates are "Morroskyrim" and "Skywind." Which do you think is better?
I voted for "Skywind" because it's shorter, cleaner, simpler, and more elemental: sky and wind.
That's actually a good idea. At the very least, Skywind would make it less confusing on these forums.
I'm going to respectfully decline to vote. I think both names have their strong suits, and I'll go with whatever one the rest of the community wants.
"That project's gay, no one cares."
I care. I really hope Oblivion keeps getting worked on. I love Cyrodiil much more than Morrowind.
I'd vote for Morrowskyrim (or even better, Morrowsky) since Skywind confuses me. Looking at Morrowskyrim, I right away know it's Morrowind and Skyrim, but at first looking at Skywind got me thinking for a minute on what it is (I thought it was suppose to be Oblivion and Skyrim for a second). Morrowskyrim also sounds better to me. The name makes me think of Morrowind more.
I think you missed this part....
Hahaha just kidding guys, heck, the way it's starting to look, I might give Oblivion a second chance. But nothing here about that project, we'll make another thread for that.
Defenetely for the Skywind) it's easier to say and remember
I didn't miss it, but he did say might. And a lot of people aren't giving Oblivion any love.

Shasow, I was joking! I'm the one that put out the Obliviskyrim master file! I'm not going to lie, I like Morrowind more, but it was simply a joke. You know what bud, I'll remove that reference, and set up a naming convention for Oblivion to Skyrim. By the way, Obliviskyrim is getting lots of love, just look at all the threads!
You gotta be able to take humor and jokes bro, else life is just boring. I'm an Apple/Mac guy. Almost all my friends give me crap about it, but I don't let it bother me, I just joke back with them. Same with Morrowind. A lot of my friends like Oblivion more than Morrowind, but we just joke back and forth. You gotta lighten up and have fun man! Life's too serious
Personally, I think Morrowind - a classic, a must for any gamer, because if not played Morrowind, you have not played the game at all))) Those who dared to take such a step, as the transfer to the Morrowind engine Skyrim - a lot of respect for you and thank you for this! by title think Skivind - the best name. A logo on offer to use the logo with the addition of Skyrim Azura star above his head between the wings.
Skywind sounds better.
@Clint - Apple Mac omg hahahahahaha! Only joking with you!
I don't mind Apple Macs myself but i'm too used to Windows, plus i find compatibility on a Mac is far less than on Windows.
Looks like Skywind is winning, that makes me a happy panda.
Morrim? Where is Morrim?
But Skywind is better)
Haha Morrim, has a ring to it tho
I think Morrorim sounds best... if your going to convert them all then Morroblivirim, or if only oblivion then Oblivirim.
Morrorim sounds like an obscure pottery technique.
I'd have to agree with Leobloom, that just sounds like gibberish, and doesn't really define what the project is about.
I have voted for SkyWind, but what about the Oblivion project.?
Do we use something like SkyOblivion for that.?
Have been looking closely at the Morroblivion graphics etc [at least on my system],and I think that they are a lot better than the Skyrim graphics with the Oblivion graphics set to max and my graphics card setting also at max.
This is just a personal thought, but I have Morrowind [almost complete] in the TES4 engine and think that it looks great.
If I could get the Skyrim game into TES4 and it looked and played like morroblivion,I would be a happy camper.
Rewiting all the morrowind quests into the skyrim engine when we already have the game in TES4,sounds like a lot of work to get the same game to me.
well i said Skyroblivion for skyrim oblivion
Skyroblivion sounds kind of strange to me. I'll stick my vote with Obliviskyrim still.
Ironman:
You are completely free to write a converter yourself, but honestly there just aren't many people interested in doing that. Many of the Skyrim systems are simply much better, and I probably will not play Oblivion again for more than a few minutes for that, and every other of the many good reasons. If you want Skyrim to look more like Oblivion, just look for some of the different ENB mods. They usually brighten up the landscape and make it look more like Oblivion HDR.
I did not explain what I mean very well above.
Skyrim [the actual game] looks ok to me because I can see for miles and everything looks ok.
But when I load morrowind_sk.esm and coc/cow to AND_Wrldmorrowind the graphics look inferior to the morroblivion ones and I can`t see things in the distance like in the skyrim game,it`s like my ultra settings are being ignored as things like castles just kind of pop up instead of being visible from miles away.
Ironman, it's still being worked on. LOD isn't finished yet and whatnot. I also think lighting is screwed up right now and other stuff that makes it look inferior to Oblivion. If you want the game to look more like Oblivion, I highly suggest you use the FXAA settings I made, since I do too like the vibrant lush look of Oblivion much more than the gray blob of Skyrim. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19849
Oh ok, I can explain that. While my LOD has land meshes and textures, it does not have distant objects. So for awhile at least things will pop up suddenly. When we get distant objects working that won't be an issue though, and the game will give you the high settings you are expecting.
Also, all of the meshes have problems, so they should not look as good as Morroblivion up close either. At least not yet....
Yeah, understood Shadow,I quess I am spoiled by having a system that just takes everything at max,LOL.
BTW,sorry for going off topic.
Thanks for the link Shasow,I have lots of FXAA settings mods, but will definately give yours a look.
Ive tried working on things to appear in the Distant. My system isnt taking it too well tho. Everything is written in the LODSetting folder. My computer overwrites it when i start to generate objects. So its either we get objects to appear in the distance or land to appear.i would use oscape to generate the land but my computer doesnt run oscape right. Nothing even appears in the boxes when i click skyrim as my game. If u really want to run things to the max, my beautification (which i will be working on) is a good way to start making it look good again. You can download it and go into your preferences and make the grass load even further than max in the settings. I still am having problems with getting grass to appear everywhere and water to have distant waves, but its a start.
Also shadow, i think if i was to make an ESP for u that makes everything visible when distant, and u were to run oscape and generate land for it, i tihnk it might generate the objects with it,there has to be some special option. Maybe writing the objects to the LODstats.doc in the skyrim directory would work for it? we will have to see. i am going to be gone for a few days tomorrow so i will come back and have to look at everything u all posted. ill try to get a look even while im gone. ill hurry up and work on the beautification stuff before i go... even if it mean staying up all night just to make it look good. Also Shadow i have converted alot of the morrowind textures to a TGA file. So all i have to do is specify the LOD for each mesh and we will be able to easily create LOD objects without having to find textures then convert them one at a time to a tga.
oops double post
Hi:) And what about "Morrorim" or "Morrim"?
Morroblivirim.
Skywind. No question.
For Skyrim + Oblivion, I personally always liked "Skyrivion".
For all three it's an awkward mess no matter how you say it, but I also thought of "Morroblivirim" before. The only other thing that I like the sound of is "Skyrowblivion".
Skywind sounds like Skyrim in Morrowind. Morroblivion was Morrowind in Oblivion, right? Morrowind came first and then Oblivion (the game Morrowind was recreated in). Same thing with Obliviskyrim. Oblivion comes first, and then Skyrim (because it's being made in the game Skyrim). If we go with Skywind, it would break the pattern of all three recreations. If we go with Skywind, then it would best to go with Skyblivion or something, which I personally don't think sounds good either. I'm all for Morrowsky or Morrowskyrim.
I actually like Skyblivion over Obliviskyrim. The reason is that they merge vowel to vowel, which feels more natural; and there's also the matter of awkward stress patterns in Obiliviskyrim.
Morroblivion worked as a name because the words merged at the same letter. Obliviwind would've worked, but same letter is better than vowel to vowel. Obliviowind has the problem of messing with stress patterns even if it can get letter to letter.
Anyways, you can easily infer what content is being ported into what game by the fact that it's always older into newer. Newer into older makes no sense.
I don't know why people are getting hung up over the tiny little details, like which should be first or second. When your hear the name of the project, obviously you're going to check it out, and in two seconds understand what their project does (Morrowind to Skyrim, Skryim to Morrowind).
Well if someone told me to go check out something called "Skywind" I probably wouldn't check it out because it just sounds like another Skyrim mod that probably adds wind in the game or something. But if someone told me to go check out "Morrowskyrim" I'd check it out right away, as I can see it has something to do with Morrowind.
Morrorim! ;D
We're all entitled to our opinion, but I still think Morroskyrim sounds too clunky and awkward. Plus it's closer to Morrowind. Skywind or Sky Wind is closer to Morrow's Wind or Tomorrow's Wind. It has more meaning and substance than Morroskyrim. Tomorrow's Skyrim? Doesn't really have any substance or meaning. Skywind sounds elemental, simple, and elegant.
However, you do raise valid concern's because someone could think that Skywind is just another Skyrim mod, which is why I would like to work on the Skywind logo a little bit more before we all agree on it. It would be great to have Skywind written in the old TES3 style like Morrowind was. If anyone saw that, they'd either know it has something to do with Morrowind, or at least that it's not just another Skyrim mod.
Morrorim just sounds like gibberish I think.
In my opinion, Skywind associated with Skyrim (not Morrowind) because Skywind begins at "Sky". If the name will begin at "Morrow" than name will associate with morrowind. I think. )
P.S. Morrim? )
The font for "The Elder Scrolls III" on Morrowind's main menu is called Magic Cards. It can be downloaded from here.
The font for "Morrowind" I believe is called Vendome SH (maybe not though, I haven't been able to try it as you have to buy the font).

Shasow, Morrowind written in 2 fonts Vendome SH and Wilke
ps maybe today I'll make one more Logo
Hmm, smth like that?

For me it's not a matter of which game came first or which one is "inside" the other, though I can appreciate the logic of looking at it that way. I just like whatever sounds the least awkward, and to me "Morroskyrim" sounds really, really awkward.
I actually know a guy whose last name is Morrowski so that would make Morrowsky a pretty tough one for me. ;P
Hey, I think it's pretty clear "Skywind" is what most people want to call this. So is it ok with everyone if I update the thread names to reflect this, to lessen confusion?
I think so
Well, Skywind title is slightly taken
board.sonicstadium.org/topic/12096-fangame-sonic-skywind/
by Sonic...
Well, I hope they don't mind us borrowing it.....
I think the subjects are different enough that people won't get confused when looking for one or the other (hopefully).
Just do it xD
P.S. But i think Morrorim (Morrim) is better xD
