[replaced] LOD for Skywind
So here it is, LOD and a world map for the Morrowind worldspace. I used oscape and set everything to very high quality, so let me know what you think. This download does not include distant buildings however, so for anyone who wants to work on that, it is still fair game.

Ill make u distant buildings shadow. just got to start converting DDS to TGA for Distant Land. will start working right now i suppose.

ok im going to start with getting rocks LOD, since they are the least complex, then work my way up to some of the buildings and stuff.
sometimes i feel sad when i play morroblivion. I feel like there should be a thick fog around you all the time like there was in morrowind. lol
Also if the Trees are still marked as statics, i can maybe get them in the LOD.
The trees right now are statics, but I think we're going to try to make actual TREEs, as Skyrim understands it. I don't think we'd want them in the LOD if we go that direction right?
Plus the trees look hideous as they are now? I don't know if we'd want that in the LOD?
k. Well before i start making statics in LOD, i have to convert the textures to TGA, then make copies of the TGAs then remake them so they are _N, so im done with 500 of the 1000 im working on. its taking forever.

hmmm well... i started generating Ghost gate and a few other things like rocks, then i got a bunch of errors.
here is my error
"A vertex in geom 'Tri Terrain_rock_MA_57' has a texture coordinate well outside of the (0,1) range. Wrapping is NOT supported in LOD."
is it me or is converting going fairly quickly?
It is making decent progress isn't it. 
I'm not getting the map in the screenshots. I'm also getting purple land in some areas (not just LOD). Is this normal? Great works so far, by the way.
Hmm, I'm not sure about that. It happened to me once, but then I re-generated the LOD and everything worked fine. I'll look into it.
did u unpack ur SI textures?
Yes, I did. Not everything is pure purple. Some patches of land are a faint-ish purple. Same thing happens with Obliviskyrim with the LOD files (although distant land is all purple there).
Oh that is what you are talking about. Yeah, we are lucky to have land textures at all. They were added late in converter development, and it is normal to have those purple patches. I think it is something wrong with alphas or something. So are you not getting the map at all?
The map is just a blank map with a lot of clouds and a mountain that seems to be made of clouds or something. It's not the Skyrim map, but it's no the Morrowind map either.
Same here,I have a map with all clouds with what I think is red mountain showing,but nothing like the map in the pic.
Correct me if I am wrong,but the map should a texture file.?
Which file is the map file in the download.?
My local map is showing correctly,but in black and white,which is correct I think.
Give me a few minutes, I might have just missed a file when I packed everything together. The clouds are just those of the normal Skyrim map.

dang this skywind LOD object generation isnt coming together too well. i guess i shouldnt have redownloaded skyrim and CK
yah, my computer isnt really wanting to generate anymore. Great LOD btw. i cant make the objects tho
So this is what i got so far, i was able to finally generate 1 type of mushroom, but it wont do the other two types for some reason. Ill work it out. It removed my ground textures? im going to try something to fix it.
If you guys are still having problems with the map, I'm afraid it might still be awhile. Steam saw fit to redownload the entire HD DLC even though I had a good backup. Just letting you all know.

So guys, I think I know, why we cannot generate OBJECT LOD at the moment, by the CK
The problem with LOD is, not all statics have LOD meshes associated with them. At the moment, we haven't got ANY associated meshes. If the objects don't have a mesh in the Source\Meshes\lod folder, then the CK will not include it with the lod mesh it creates.
Just to make sure that the steps were followed correctly, browse to your Skyrim\Data\Meshes\Terrain\Worldspace\Objects\ folder. There, you should find a number of files named
Worldspace.4.0.0.bto,
Worldspace.4.0.4.bto
Worldspace.4.0.-4.bto,
...etc.
If these .bto files are there, then the object LOD was generated correctly. You must also remember to copy the 2 .dds files from the ...Source\DDSTextures\Terrain\Worldspace\Objects folder, into Skyrim\Textures\Terrain\Worldspace\Objects\ folder.
So, we should do exactly like alexanderb did for the Obliviskyrim LOD, I guess.
The main idea of this post. May be we can convert all of this Oblivion meshes automatically by the Macorn tool?
Yes!! the download is done. Now I just have to see if I can find the problem.
I honestly don't know much about distant objects (or a lot of CK functions for that matter), so I might have to leave this one up to you guys.

I guess I'll just re-generate the LOD and find what file I missed.

I just realized that I forgot to add this to my ini to get rid of the clouds, and when I added it the map magically appeared. So try it and tell me if it works.

Something is wrong i guess. But i was able to get things to generate somewhat, as u can see in my earlier pic post. But when i do that it clears out my LOD Settings file, so it wont use shadows LOD textures or LOD Meshes. So i tried generating my own land then replacing it with his but it still didnt work. As i posted in the other posts
" shadow, i think if i was to make an ESP for u that makes everything visible when distant, and u were to run oscape and generate land for the esp, i think it might generate the objects with it,there has to be some special option. Maybe writing the objects to the LODstats.doc in the skyrim directory would work for it? we will have to see. i am going to be gone for a few days tomorrow so i will come back and have to look at everything u all posted. ill try to get a look even while im gone. ill hurry up and work on the beautification stuff before i go... even if it mean staying up all night just to make it look good. Also Shadow i have converted alot of the morrowind textures to a TGA file. So all i have to do is specify the LOD for each mesh and we will be able to easily create LOD objects without having to find textures then convert them one at a time to a tga.
There u go so ill have something for u when u get back. ima have to break up the file alot tho. its like a 1 Gig of straight textures and tgas for objects, and im not even done...
I don't know of any special options to generate objects, and I don't really want to download 1 gb of files for something that may or may not work. Like I said, I don't know too much about this. However, if someone can tell me it is possible, and where I can find information on how to do it, I will be happy to generate the distant objects.

No i already figured that stuff out, i get a different error. i can teach u how to make a LOD static easily.
its just that it might not work if u get that error too, i figured out how to get past the "its too complex error", and the "normal tgas are not the same size as the diffuse texture" but i have to figure out how to get pst this one. ill be looking into it when i get home.
Anyone tried the .ini tweak for the LOD?
I'd like to know if I was right and that is the problem.

k im trying generating LOD objects again i guess.
iWaterReflectHeight=512 / iWaterReflectWidth=512
Improves Water Reflection Resolution, which obviously will use your system resources. You can either keep it as it is, if you want to improve the performance or even lower it. Or change both to 1024 for eye candy.
Hmm might want to add that to ur skyrim.ini, ima set my really high for awsome reflections
i set my grass to as far as it can load. and the water as high of a reflection as i could get.
My map is ok now,but not seeing any grass,is it included in the download file on first post.?
