Skyrim: Dawnguard
As many of you have probably heard, they just announced the Skyrim: Dawnguard DLC. It would be interesting to hear different people's thoughts on this and what they would like to see in the DLC.
Here's a link to an IGN article, it contains the trailer for the DLC.

Crossbows are back! That means we can bring back Morrowind crossbows.
Looks pretty boss though.
Any idea wether the Dawnguard DLC will be available as retail,?,I purchased Skyrim offline in a retail store in the UK as I can`t buy online.
I have no idea, but I certainly hope it will. To me buying a game physically is more exciting than just downloading it for days. In the past all of their DLC have been retail so I'm going with probably it will but definitely not sure.
Cheers unknownone, you are right,I have got all of them retail, except the FalloutNV DLC.
Flying vampires remind me of "Underworld"
If you haven't checked it out already, definitely watch the E3 gameplay video released yesterday. It looks pretty sick! They also made some nice improvements to the game. Hopefully it's as good as it sounds.
Yeah, it looks great! and hopefully it will help us get crossbows etc back in game!
Crossbows will be awesome, plus it will help us with moving Morrowind into Skyrim. Now they just need to add some spears.
So I'm just curious, what does everyone think of Dawnguard now that it has been released. I know it is only on Xbox 360 for now, but I have already seen some spoilers (I couldn't resist), and it looks AMAZING. I would go so far as to say that it is the best DLC (expansion pack) I have seen in a long time. Not only does it apparently offer:
SPOILERS
A compelling storyline, awesome companions, new worldspaces (Forgotten Vale is bigger than blackreach), and LIVING SNOW ELVES!!!, but it improves gameplay in almost every area. Vampire lords for vampires, Werewolf perk trees, arrow smithing, crossbows, and new high level enemies. Plus, everything is apparently seamlessly integrated in vanilla Skyrim. I in fact must say that I am very impressed with Bethesda this time around, despite the 30+ day wait.
Unfortunately, Shadow, I don't be so optimistic. I have played Dawnguard on the Xbox and it was not what I waiting for...
I saw many (and very suspicious) positive reviews about Dawnguard and I can make 2 conclusions.
1) This people don't know anything about the good games.
2) (or\and) Bethesda paid them for this advertising campaign.
Only one objective review I have seen posted by Eurogamer here is the link: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-06-27-the-elder-scrolls-5-skyrim-dawnguard-review
Actually Ramms, while I did read a few reviews, I read a lot of comments by players on Bethesda's offical forum for it. From what I got, many thought that it was better than vanilla Skyrim. In any case I will still buy it for nothing else but the Snow Elves (I can already see the dozens of playable race mods), and the Crossbows. We would probably have to use it for Morroskyrim anyways, just because of that fact. Though hopefully in a separate .esp to let many people as possible play.
I think people liked the additional content from Dawnguard (crossbows, snow elves etc.) but not the questline itself.
Joystiq's review is pretty negative, for example: "Even as a fan of Skyrim, it's not an easy recommendation."

Dawnguard was due for release on the PC platform on the 26th of July, but it is not on steam and it looks like us PC guys have got to wait longer, assuming that we get it at all.
Game has been out) Crossbows are waiting for us)
Is DawnGuard released for download on steam yet.?
Yup it is!
Thanks!
Yes, I'm glad it is finally out!
Now I just need to some money to buy it with.
-----SPOILER------
I haven't played it but, it contains the spirit of Jiub, our good friend from Morrowind, and it gives the backstory of him, things like who was he before he met Nerevarine, or his story of becoming St. Jiub. Even how he died(in Kvatch, probably by Scamps). The most exciting news is that he uses the same voice actor from Morrowind. There even is a line like(not exactly just like): "The I said to that prisoner, "Wake up, here you go, you were dreaming.""
His spirit is in Soul Cairn, and If I understood correctly he is not directly on the way and needs a little bit of exploring to be found...
My issue is that it blows up the game when modded, I simply cant play without a majority of my mods!
Gotta wait till they update them.
REALLY awesome Jiub is in the game tho, I have fond memories of him, Had him as a companion in Morrowind way back in the day
