With the many ways to convert Morrowind...
Using the standad ESP converter
Adding the Object Replacer ini files
Or only some of the Object Replacer
Adding Official plugins
Adding mods
(I'm guilty of the last 3)
...we end up with a similar looking Morrowind_ob.esm but underneath we end up with same items having different form ID's, causing massive conflicts in mods.
Meaning if I edit an object in my game, in anothers game the change might affect another object or create an error and do nothing.
I bring this up because my dialogue mod is not working correctly for some people, quests aren't linking together... dialogue is not advancing ... so when all the quests are created, the mod won't work for most people.
What we need to do is create a standarised converting process to get everybody to the same starting level and make it so all mods will work.
I propose that we should all use the converter with the Object Replacer, (possibly with Hashmi1's ini files that he is working on, http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/bugs-issues/455) with all the official plugins and maybe a little mod called real signposts.
Discussion, what do you guys think??
I agree that there should be standard conversion files, however the Morroblivion object replacer ... well goes a bit too far in replacing things. For example it certainly doesn't help to have ogres replace ogrims ... and have them show up in daedric shrines and tombs
We can always edit the object replacer, as long as we end up with something useful.
yeah, tbh there's no way i'm using the replacer man :/ I tried it and i hated it tbh
EDIT: also we could maybe make it so that your quests/dialogue mod, converts the factions/ IDs on MW to the desired ones?
What exactly did you not like about the replacer?
lol tbh i don't like any of it's replacements.. not even the mushrooms :/
