FOREWORD: The last version of the ESP Converter v0.98b features the new amazing Mod Converter, now you can add your favourite Morrowind mods in the Morroblivion INI. Yes! You are going to be able to enjoy again those good old mods inside Morroblivion once more!
So! I was thinking, what are the best mods for Morrowind that can be converted with Morroblivion?
I mean mods that can add cool stuff in the game, also things like improved textures and meshes for weapons, architecture, clutter, flora, etc... and that will blend the Oblivion quality.

Some of these look like original meshes. We could release the converted meshes for oblivion and Bethesda couldn't complain about it! (provided we have the authors' permissions)
NOT PLANET ELDER SCROLLS I can't download any of these!!!! O C**P
You only need to register on PES, its free ... I dunno whats the problem with Planet Elder Scrolls, when it comes to MW Mods is one of the best resources on the internet.Try to register, you should be fine. Calm down.
And of course Savant, but this is for people to download, so you can add the name of ESP in the Morroblivion list of plugins and convert it again with the new meshes and stuff.

Are these mods ones that can be used currently with the converter GUI, or ones that we would wish to see?
Of course I would LOVE to see Morrowind Comes Alive converted! But this is highly unlikely. http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.Detail&id=5047
On an interesting note, I was able to get a simliar mod (I think Morrowind NPCs advanced or something) to work mostly, which was cool.
Also of interest might be Vality's excellent Balmora mod: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6316
Here you will also find links to Vality's other very VERY awesome Bitter Coast and Ascadian Isles mods, which make the trees and landscape of these areas look freaking amazing. However, the trees seem to have a problem with converting or something... because most of them bleed into the surrounding buildings/rocks/other trees etc. Any idea why?
EDIT: I can't believe I forgot!! WHo could forget Illuminated Windows? http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.Detail&id=1131
It currently does not seem to work with the converter, but it would be brilliant if it would! Morrowind is SOOOO dark at night, especially with the Darker Nights mod for Oblivion.
Also, it would be uber sweet if we could get Tamriel Rebuilt's maps working, or in general any mod that adds a landmass or lots of NPCs, etc. Tamriel Rebuilt: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5133
I converted several mods but only that replaces things like meshes and textures. There are several mods that cant be converted like, quest and armors. This ones can be converted without a problem.
I have converted balmora expansion and it works yust fine . You think I could convert some REALLY Large mods?
just remember u cant convert neither scripts or armor, or creatures.
And apparently land masses don't work either. At least for me, neither of the TR maps worked. Lights don't work either, as seen in Illuminated windows.
Apparently there's a problem with converting heightmaps, and I was thinking... what about LOD? Because in Morrowind there's no LOD files, so... you will be able to see the current cell only because no far objects/land have been created for it...
Ho! And I take some screenies, this the mod Garu recomended "Book Jakets":
This mod now becomes a must have, at least for me... if anyone wants the normal maps for it, you only need to ask because I already done the Normal Maps for all the books.
;D Seeya!
You should post the normal maps on tesnexus. Kudos to you
i guess u can convert the landmass but it got to be separated from the main esm or u would get the error ¨too many keys¨ and all that crap.
Done! Here you can download the package:
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24136
Enjoy ;D
Have you maybe tried to convert that texture pack
@ Garu_vm - Have a link, maybe? The only TR I have is the esm version.
@ the last guy - what texture pack is that?
what i meant is that u can try converting the tr_data.esm and tr.map1.esm without using the morrowind.esm or any of the expansion.
edit: i just realized that u cannot convert anything without the morrowind.esm
sorry
"i just realized that u cannot convert anything without the morrowind.esm"
True.
Adding more MW mods to the list
Kel's Hi-Res Hlaalu Retex Pack - This "mod" replaces all Hlaalu textures (i.e Balmora) with new high resolution ones.

I'm still a bit lost... is this about mods we want made possible to convert, or mods that work by conversion right now?
It's very simple, what mods do you think are the best for TES3Morrowind and of course, mods that you can actually convert with Morroblivion, so ... Quests, Clothes, Armor, Faces, Hair and Bodies are not in the list since those objects/elements cannot be converted into TES4Oblivion.
Hope that helps to clear this up ;D
have u converted one of those? like the adamantiun helmet?
Well ... some of them yes I'm simply using logic, for instance if you are adding a .esp that will alter a region or add more houses, trees, etc ... it should always work, and replacers always work... specially texture replacers.
Google for Ultimate Textures 2, anything by Darknuts or Vality7 and Morrowind Graphics Extender 3.8, Unofficial Morrowind Patch, MLOX, Morrowind Code Patch, Better Bodies, Better Heads and I could go on for another 83 mods yet...
Hi uberhiker, yep Ultimate Textures should work with the convertion but remember that the list of mods are for the convertion not for Morrowind itself ;D
So ... for example Better Head is useless in this case also MGE and similar utilities for the Morrowind engine.
Seeya!
A new found:
Mournhold Overhaul by BobSmolders - Add some new textures and more NPC's, Ambientation, Decoration to the city of Mournhold.
Hi again, any_soph a description would be nice ;D thanks for sharing the link but, could you be more specific ? Browsing the Nexus I found this.
Morrowind 09 Part One - Misc. Objects by Nelothsmouth - This mod replaces all the misc objects with new meshes and textures.
Wow, so many texture replacers. >.<" Mind boggling.
Just wanted to add something. A post I read in April kinda annoyed me.
When using Planet Elder Scrolls, you MUST register with Fileplanet. Now, since must of us have the attention span of a jackrabbit on steroids, I have a tip for you.
Read.
That's all. On the left column of the registration page, there is a option to register for free!!!!!
Oops... Yes, Ultimate textures converts well. It actually puts a hurtin' on the rig but the eye candy is gorgeous.
Wow! It's been a long time sine the last post, well I found some amazing mods that you can convert and enjoy right now with Morroblivion, take a look!
Mesh Improvements v1.6.1 by Armed_Defender - Outstanding job! Improves different kinds of objects/meshes, from candles to Dwarven sets.
Suran Waterfront by Thondur - New Suran Waterfront. Need a Vacation?

Tree Texture Resource by Vurt (for Modders) - Incredible ressource,it almost looks better than the trees from Oblivion! 3 new bark textures and 2 tree crowns (leaves). Textures are in 1024x1024 resoultion.
Souly Soulgems(!) by Earth Wyrm - This is a small mod to replace the meshes, textures and icons of the soulgems in 'TESIII: Morrowind'. The new meshes are all reflect-mapped and, with the exception of Azura's Star, true to their original designs.
Signy Signposts(!): Vvardenfell by Earth Wyrm - This mod provides new meshes and high-resolution textures for the signposts all across the Vvardenfell region of Morrowind (That's the landmass of the entire vanilla game), making them easily readable from a distance.

Have fun! Hugs, David Wolf.-
books look good could you post screen shots or a video of the other texture replacements? I just found out my cd/dvd drive craped out so now I can't even load morrowind or oblivion T_T
As for if I can add images, of course I can. But you will find lots of screenies in the links I provide, just a click away!
Seeya

Adding more amazing mods to the list!
Dwemeri gifts by Yar-Yulme - This mod replace Nerevar's Blade and Sword of Almalexia. Now they got more "technological" and detailed, dwemeri-stylish appearance.
Refined Banners by Linora - Refines Morrowind's original banners with new details and a higher resolution, making them fit in much better with other high-res texture replacers. Doesn't include Imperial, 6th house, or other such banners, only the type seen in Balmora, Gnisis, Sadrith Mora, etc.
Refined Signs by Linora - Refines Morrowind's Original signs with new details and a higher resolution, making them fit in better with other high-res textures.
Gold v1.3 by Hendalf - Replaces the original models and textures of Imperial coins with the better ones. One side has a dragon while the other has the face of Tiber Septim. If you like "shiny" gold, this is the mod for you.
Balmora Riverview Tower by Thondur - Yes, yes ANOTHER house in Balmora, but this one is a bit different in the details, even has a functional toilet
Comes with a large crypt for a storage basement and a secret passage through a crystal cave to the west gash region for all you children of the night...
Dwemer Alchemy Set by £exa - This Plugin adds a set of unique dwemer alchemy tools (new Meshes!) to the game. All four items are NOT simply retextured originals but have newly designed meshes instead. You can find them well hidden in some of the Dwemer ruins across Vvardenfell. No random picks, all items are unique and worth searching for their quality that is slightly exceeding the grandmaster set.
Raw Adamantium Mesh and Icon Replacer by Alphax - A new mesh for the Raw Adamantium ingredient, and matching icon.
Trees! Replacers - Grazelands by starwarsguy9875 - When I made this, I just wanted the trees in the Grazelands to look good, it's one of my favorite regions, and I was tired of seeing those shabby, sickly trees in it, it's supposed to be a blooming live region. So, with the magic of billboards, I made the trees look better.
Hi-Res Telvanni Textures by Plangkye - I'd always wanted a good Telvanni texture replacer, but all the ones I could find changed the appearance far too drastically for my tastes.
Balmora Candle Shop by Nathaniel "Wolfzen" Schrader - Adds a shop near the Balmora River, on the East Side of town. In it is a man who sells every light in the game with an infinite stock. Useful for a number of reasons. Also has unlimited stock of all normal soul gems, each one with a different stock amount depending on value. Because I felt like it, I also added beast boots to the shop as well.
More Lights by Phaedrus (for Modders) - A collection of 48 new chandeliers, sconces, and table lamps for Morrowind. This is a modder's resource; nothing new is added to the game.
Iron Stove by Minamir and Plangkye (for Modders) - This is a model of an iron stove to be used in a mod.
Animated Rowboats by Phaedrus (for Modders) - This is a modder's resource. Feel free to use these meshes in any way you want.
Waterwheel by Phaedrus (for Modders) - A waterwheel, complete with water and a sluice to deliver it. The water has an animated texture so it "flows" along with the wheel at just the right speed, and accelerates once it falls off the decending edge of the wheel.
Have fun modding Morroblivion! ;D
I've searched through the forum and haven't found anything that really goes into a lot of detail about this... So, I'm trying to get these mods into Morroblivion but it's not really working. I have done the following:
Downloaded the mods I want. These are mostly retextures, and none of them use .esp files.
Installed them to the Morrowind Data Files directory. THis was done the way it was supposed to, with textures in the textures folder, meshes in the meshes folder, etc.
Ran the Esp_Converter, in the hopes that it would convert and use the textures I installed. However, this didn't work and all the textures are still the original Morrowind textures.
What am I doing wrong? Using Morrowind GOTY Edition.
The only thing I can think of is that you installed the textures in the wrong directory or there's something fishy with your version of the ESP Converter. (0.98b, latest)
Besides that, I don't know.... maybe the ESP Converter is unable to convert some kind of file with a especific format... it depends, I have a similiar problem (with formats) when the textures are in BMP, instead of DDS or TGA.
But ... you are unable to convert ANY textures at all? Let me know!
Seeya ;D
Well, I downloaded the converter from this site the other day, so it is definatly they latest version. All of the textures are in .dds format. After the conversion I had a quick run through Morrowind in Oblivion and found that the Morrowind retexture didn't work and neither had the Velothi retexture. I also did a Dwemer and Telvanni retexture, but I didn't bother looking at those.
I'm pretty sure that all the files went into the right directory, however I was not sure I was doing it right when nothing (other than the folders) was overwritten. All of the default game textures were packed into .bsa files you see, so my new textures didn't overwrite them. Could that be the problem?
Edit: I just tried playing Morrowind and all the textures work fine there, so I have definatly installed them correctly. They are all .dds format...
I managed to get Seyda Neen docks working, even though there where errors in the conversion (this was after the first conversion where I did only texture mods, when running the converter with the new textures alone installed there are no errors). So the .esp mod just about worked but all my retextures failed. =/
Another edit: @DavidWolf: I just tried installing the Redoran Texture mod you released and for some bizarre reason it has worked on all the interiors but none of the outside textures have changed. Downloaded from TESNexus and definatly installed the way the readme said... =/
Somehow I can't download
Illuminated Books by Connary
as it seems it just doesn't exist anymore.
Any chance to get it somewhere else?:/
Yes, I do recomend you to download the one Garu_vm recomended wich is Book Jackets. It's way better than Illuminated Books or Better Books.
Seeya!
PD: It seems that the great modder Connary is no longer sharing his work, at least on PES. A very sad thing indeed, he had such great mods, apparently he's working in a big mod that will merge all the mods into one big overhaul or something like that.
Adding new amazing mods!
Ascadian Isles Tree Replacer by Vurt - Amazing speedtree replacer for all the ascadian isles region!
Morrowind Tree Textures Overhaul by Vurt - A replacement of 42 tree textures in high resolution (1024x1024 and 2048x2048). Bloodmoon and Tirbunal tree textures are included.
Lava & Smoke Retexture by Vurt - Incredible mod with a lot of options! Lava retexture for morrowind. 4 different versions to choose from with glow maps!
Better Skulls by tronvillain & nONatee - Great replacer for all the skull in the game, they even look better than the ones from Oblivion!
Animated Morrowind by Arcimaestro Antares - This mod adds some new animated Npcs to the world, and gives animations to some Npcs of the original game.
Have fun!
Hey does anyone know if Tamriel Rebuilt can work with morroblivion at all???
God looking through all these morrowind mods brings back memories,
I think a good mod to convert for morroblivion would be the lost armour of st. nerevar mod, i don't think it would be that hard either cuse someone has already made an obliv version of ordinator armour all that would need to happen is som1 would have to retexture it.
hate to be the noob to off-set the flow of conversation here but is there a mod for morrowind involving ships and actualy using them in real time, as well as realtime stilts and a beast rider options such as a guar or even something crazy like a bull netch. again i dont know if these exist or the moro mod conversion process, but it be nice to see that kinda stuff in a morroblivion personal i think a horse in morro would be stupid, and these games really need moving usable boats,
This is a very old post..none of this is usable.ty
What do you mean none of this is usable? Most/all of these work for morrowind. I'm saving this list until I get a new computer so I can download it ALL. Muhahahahaha. >=D
