Problem With Cider Wrapper and OSX Lion

I am using Nightblaz'e wrapper for Cider on OSX Lion. I have tried everything I can think, I have the plugins.txt and DLC.txt files made correctly and the default executable file is set to OBSE_loader.exe. However, when I open the Oblivion.app file, it says that OBSE failed to inject the DLL. Is there anything that I can do to make this work? Because Morroblivion and some of the other mods that I use require OBSE, I cannot start a new game by using the Oblivion.exe set as the default. Thank you for your help. Also, I am running a late 2011 15" Macbook Pro with AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphics and 8gb of RAM. My machine can (or should) run Oblivion just fine.

Mmm I have never heard of

Mmm I have never heard of anyone getting OBSE to work with a cider wrapper. I think it might work under a Wineskin wrapper. I've gotten OBMM to run in a Wineskin wrapper, but I don't think I was able to launch Oblivion from within OBMM. It's been a while since I've messed with it, so I'm not sure.

Doesn't OBSE require the .net framework? I don't think cider wrappers have that, but you can put in a mono equivalent, which is how I was able to at least get OBMM to run.

I think I should let every Mac guy know, since we've been getting an influx recently, it is tough getting a good Morroblivion experience on the Mac. Its worth it, once you get it working, but it can be frustrating.

For example, on my Morroblivion install, everything works beautifully, except dialogue since I have yet to figure out OBSE in Cider/Wineskin.

Edit: Aside from OBSE, you can run vanilla Oblivion right?

Yea, aside from Morroblivion,

Yea, aside from Morroblivion, vanilla Oblivion runs swimmingly in the Cider wrapper. I tried Cider because I can run Skyrim on high in Cider without issue. Do you have a Morroblivion wrapper? Is there any way you could share that with me?

I'm running nightblaze's wrapper as well. Can you not get mods to run?

Mods work just fine. I was under the impression that you had morroblivion running in a wrapper.

morroblivion is just another

morroblivion is just another mod for oblivion [like other mods] so in my opion it should run.

But I don`t use a Mac,so could be way off.

But the OBSE might have probs in the wrapper as is stated I think.

Unfortunately, Morroblivion

Unfortunately, Morroblivion isn't just another mod. It requires OBSE, and I've done quite a bit of reading. From my experience in building wrappers and such, it may not be possible to do within a wrapper. OBSE reads Oblivion's data live as you play and makes changes and adjustments as you go. On a PC running Windows, this is fine. However, when being run from a wrapper which emulates Windows system structure, it does not. The wrapper is a ".app" file, or Mac application. Unlike in Windows where a program pulls from sometimes other programs, a wrapper cannot. Since OBSE is a separate program, the wrapper can use it, but not Oblivion at the same time, or vice versa. A wrapper can have only one targeted ".exe" file. Also, OBSE writes ".dll" files lively as the game plays, this is an issue for the wrapper as well. I believe that I will unfortunately have to wait until I install Windows 7 on bootcamp Friday in order to play Morroblivion. I know it is possible on a Mac, but the knowledge of how to do so is beyond me, and I find myself to be pretty proficient with wrapper construction and OSX in general.

You are exactly right, a

You are exactly right, a wrapper can only have one targeted .exe at at time, which is why I could never get OBMM to launch Oblivion. I am now remembering again.

OBSE just handles Morroblivion's dialogue, nothing else. So the mod will run, just with hella fast dialogue.

But you are correct. If you want a true and complete Morroblivion experience, you will need to run it under Windows.

EDIT: However, getting back to what you said earlier, Morroblivion is just another mod for Oblivion. Yup, it requires OBSE, but so do a good number of mods out there: deadly reflex, streamline, cm partners, unnecessary violence, etc. So since we can't get OBSE running in the wrapper, we won't be able to get Morroblivion dialogue, as well as any other OBSE mod to run either. My point is it's not just Morroblivion dialogue you'd have trouble with, it would be any OBSE mod out there.

Now in a full wine environment, where all your .exe's are running in the same wine environment and they can call to each other, OBSE does work. I did this a while back in Ubuntu Linux. Check out the second from bottom line. So yeah, you can't have multiple .exe's in a wrapper and have them talk to each other, but you can in a full wine environment. I'm pretty sure you could install wine on the mac, but they make it so hard to do (it's easy in Linux). And plus, it's probably easier and safer to run Morroblivion in Windows.

I only run Morroblivion on the Mac because I've already played Morrowind and know the dialogue very well, so the fast dialogue doesn't bother me.

As I don`t use a Mac,I was correct in assuming that I was way off in my post, but for design work in the Mac`s own format it leaves the MS OS`s standing.
