Just wondering if anyone still plays the original Morrowind. I haven't played it in quite a while...I've been just playing Morroblivion mostly. It'll be nice when quests and stuff are brought to Morroblivion. That'll be very nice...

Well, kinda. I went back to the original this winter (didn't know of Morroblivion) with the intent of finally finishing the main quest before all the subquests. Then my mb burned off, and I never got any further. lol.

I played Morrowind after

I played Morrowind after playing Oblivion for awhile. I really missed spear weapons and medium and unarmored. I am dusting off my Morrowind collection and installing it now, to test Morroblivion and to just play the old game. Maybe genocide some cliffracers. Well gotta help Jiub with that. Maybe help silly ol Fargoth with his lost ring... then take it again

Yeah, I think I like

Yeah, I think I like Morrowind better than Oblivion. I spent hours and hours and hours (fun hours, too) in Morrowind and I don't think Oblivion could really match that.

your right zach its just

your right zach its just something abount morrowind that gave you that thing to alwasys want to play it more in more rather then oblivion don't get me wrong if they really did a better job at makeing oblivion like they did morrorwind it would be great like the expansion for morrorwind they could have the abilty to make ur own armor with out the use of a mod and to you kill would be a great addon for it but they did not even for oblivion they never made that just simple things like that could have been implemented btw check out the mods i posted lastnight

I agree i love morrowind its

I agree i love morrowind its got a permenant place on my computer if i can help it. There is something about it. there was soo much more room to play around with it too. like wizards islands and sea of destiny alot of fantastic mods came out of it. If we could get alot of that greatness moved into morroblivion i would be so happy. cause i think oblivion isn't as great as i liked morrowind but things like the way you cast spells in oblivion and some other random things are really cool... kinda hate how you can't wear armor and clothes especially with robes now... kinda miss that and the whole split pauldrons and seperate gauntlets and everything from morrowind. >.>... mod morrowind into something like oblivion?
cause for me with the Morrowind graphics extender its really looking good specially with a sweet texture pack and some upgrades like better bodies... morrowind looks pretty good now. the only thing that kinda makes me sad is the fact that modding for morrowind has all but stopped completely. especially for the big mods... like there was one for werewolves that the second part of it never happened... ah the good old days >.>

I play Morrowind far more than Oblivion and that's why I'd love to have it modernised in this way!

Well....

While there are alot of things I wish Oblivion had, I play it alot more... I just think that the spellcasting system really did it for me, and the simplistic HUD was nice to. Though, I do miss having spears and all the armor stacking... Oblivion just hits a special place in my heart. So, Morroblivion is going to be great with all the things I liked about Oblivion in Morrowind.

I still play Morrowind quite

I still play Morrowind quite alot. I switch between MW and Obliv quite often. Morrowind may be inferior graphics wise(as if anyone cares) and lacks Oblivions combat system, but it still has lots to offer. I like the freedom in MW, oblivion feels very streamlined, everything is leveled and basically holds you back from advancing. Morrowind was more static and didn't change like Oblivion did. Although it got boring when you became high leveled, it was still better to have a world that didnt feel like it was catered to you...if that makes any sense.

I also didn't like the removal of spears, spears were my favorite melee weapon. I could run away and still stab people while keeping a distance. Perfect for the speed-style fighter. I also liked the freedom of the magic system in MW, no need to do 7 different quests before being able to make your own spells. Oh, and enchant was the bomb(even though you had to use mods or exploits to make it work on higher level enchanments), removing it from Oblivion and replacing it with altars of enchanting was lame. I also miss the bartering system in morrowind, being able to sell my Daedric weapons to merchants by trading it for various items is alot better then being forced to sell all my stuff for a lousy price like in Oblivion. I also miss spell effects like Levitating.

I'll always play MW, every now and then I get bored of it and quit for a few months, but I always come back. There is just to many things to do and to many ways to do them.

But if Morroblivion started getting really close to completion(most bugs fixed and faction/house quests working), I'd probably abandon MW for a while.

I also used to play this games regularly. But I had some problems of installing the new version and then I stopped playing this game. Now I am again curious about this game.

Please stop advertising

Please stop advertising Tamriel Rebuilt ... no offense ... its a great mod and all but its irrelevent to Morroblivion. Besides we are here facing a greater shortage of modders than Tamriel Rebuilt ...

Most people prefer Morrowind to Oblivion

If you were to take a look at many of the old threads at the officials, you would know that Morrowind has been voted better than Oblivion. Actually Daggerfall was voted above Oblivion :/ I think vanilla morrowind and vanilla oblivion, Morrowind would be so much better. Oblivion took me hours, not days, to get bored of and morrowind took me 3 and 1/2 years to get done, and I might start that up 4 or 5 years later.

Me

I just started playing Morrowind…so I guess that still counts. I got Oblivion after I got MW, I got bored of Oblivon right after I started it.

I prefer Oblivion. Morrowind

I prefer Oblivion.

Morrowind got me bored having to read countless texts.

One of my first quests I had to enter an area with creatures having way more strength than I and I got killed straight away.

Combat is not as good as Oblivion and I get lost all the time.

Magic doesn't replenish quick enough.

The only thing I like better in Morrowind is the music.

Otherwise Oblivion is way better for me.

Logged 61 hours on Oblivion.

1 hour on Morrowind and that 1 hour was tedious especially when you walk really slow in Morrowind.

Tried the Morrowind Graphic

Tried the Morrowind Graphic Overhaul and had mountains of problems with it.

Morrowblivion looks good but just too many installers so I'm sure I'll stuff it up.

I did reinstall Morrowind 8 times now to try to get Morrowind Graphic Overhaul working to no avail so I don't wanna have the same headache again.

I've modded Oblivion and no errors in 61 hours so far.

Bring On Skyrim!!!!

I prefer Oblivion over

I prefer Oblivion over Morrowind.  I can't get past the cheezy way Morrowind showed weapons being used and the spells.  I also love the way Oblivion does alchemy.  Besides in Vanilla MW, everyone pretty much stayed static.  In Oblivion, people talked to you in conversations which sometimes extended past leaving the person.  Overall, the story in MW was great and many of the side quests are too, but I didn't fully understand anything like that until after playing Oblivion.  Now Morroblivion has filled in the gap with taking care of that annoying up and down motion when using the melee weapons and the spells are much better as well.

I like both,  but for

I like both,  but for diffrent reasions

oblivion is a really good game once you install the unoffical patches, the numorus optimization mods and patches ( the game could have had much lower system requirements had all the meshes and coding been optimized) and countless replacers and general annoyances remover ( NO I dont need to know that my horse is stabled outside or were to go to for the next quest), I personally consider mods like OOO to be essential  same goes for body and face replacers, the original face textures were 128x128 which is terribly low res.

Morrowind however is a game that I have played since I was  in 8th grade yes I have  played it for over 8 years people and I still love it, even more so know that I have it for the computer, it's a game that hats a permenent place on my c drive and will never uninstall unless I reinstall/upgrade my os.

I know you are not going to

I know you are not going to this site anymore, for the record this is completely false. More people who play Oblivion play on consoles then PC this is the other way round with Morrowind. So PC gamers will discover mods and the Bethesda site has a brilliant mod section so they will get attracted to the forums. People who play on consoles are less likely to find out about Bethesda's site. And which game got better reviews? Oblivion. Which game made more sales? Oblivion. More people prefer Oblivion but they are less vocal because people who prefer Morrowind are trying to get a message across to Bethesda and people who prefer Oblivion are not so they don't care about those polls.

I played both on the PC. I

I played both on the PC.

I prefer Morrowind because it gave off such a nice feeling, it worked on your imagination, but I only played it for a very short period of time (few months) because I don’t like to read that much. Its hard to understand a game if you don’t read the quests lines. Almost every NPC’s had written text lines.

Oblivion was a great game I played it for several years. The voiced aspect made it so much more fun for me to play. It gave me the option to express my creativity by making mods, or helping others improve there mods.

My plan is to help out and make Morroblivion a better mod to play, so I can finally enjoy Morrowind in its full settup.

I do.  Morrowind looks a lot

I do.  Morrowind looks a lot better than Morroblivion does with the right mods and all the quests work perfectly.  I also like to use a lot of the mods that people have made for Morrowind that probably won't ever get ported.  Besides, I like Morrowind's combat system better (seriously).

I actually never managed to

I actually never managed to finish MW, I was rather young when it came out, and by the time I discovered it, bout 6 months after Oblivions release, it was very hard to get into, because the controls etc are kind of stiff, the combat animations etc. when coming from Oblivion. Now the same goes for Oblivion, Ill probably never boot that up anymore since Skyrim came out. But what I enjoyed for a long time about morrowind was just reading about its storyline, Tamriel was incredibly well crafted back then, moreso than what now remains. Skyrim's story  is gray, Oblivions story is gray, Morrowinds story is a strange shade of purple with red and orange and some yellow, I guess thats the only way to make my point even remotely clear on a forum. Currently playing a fully graphic-modded Morrowind, but still havent been able to truly get into it, if someone has any tips on how I could manage to get into its groove, it is of course appreciated. The prollem aint graphics or combat, I think it mostly is the clunky speed at which you walk, and that combined with the lack of the addictive fast-travel. I got quite into Morroblivion a while back, before the main-quest was scripted etc, but now it seems like a monumental task to install the whole thing again, maybe sometime later.
