Here I want to show my progress on making Dwemer clutter objects. As a guide I use lukkar's concepts.
You can see all my progress here, on Google Docs.
For the armoire I might suggest thick recessed handles instead of the common dainty ones.http://www.inbrass.co.uk/acatalog/EdinaFlushHandleCPP.jpghttp://cdn-tp1.mozu.com/2199-2317/cms/2317/files/d990d307-37...
All the handles in general might do well to be a tad thicker, just to add a bit of weight to the design. Keep it 'clunky' when you can.
But good job matching to the concept art :)
Think Erik's textures and design motifs will come in handy for this as well?
Good job skv. Until it is not this table. You can add some inflection, bend, cracked or damaged. I think mesh is light enough to do changes like that. Feel free to add sth from your own, of course until it will be consistent :P
Yeah handles could be a bit more clunky, but honestly I prefer ordinary ones for nostalgia points.
When it comes to design motifs (I understand that as some decorative ones), I honestly prefer to leave it as spartan as it is possible.
Thanks for comments guys! I'll try to remade handles, making them a bit clunky ;)
I have only these textures:
And few maded by myself, but I always trying to use existed ones in project. So, let me know, which is better to use for models and colors like in concept.
Guys, few questions:
1) Do I need to adapt the scale of these furniture objects, so NPC and Player can use them later in game? (Now it matches Skyrim's furniture scale)
2) Can I add something by myself
3) Do you think these models made by dwemers itselfs or by other people who lives in that kind of ruins?
When it comes to textures, i just used MW's ones and added a bit light to them. So some better, polished version of new one would be nice. Quite close to original for nostalgia reasons. Probably first thing it will be creating seamless standart versions of these texture. Later creating stains and oxidised spots where water is gathering (surfaces heading to up, depressions/cavities, connections with other metal parts) Talk to eloth about it.
Also I will provide you warrior's illustration for chests.
1) Yeah. But table 1.c should be created in that way that you can create twice big one, just by adding 4 next to each other.
2) Until it will be spartan and consistent, why not :)
3) Only by dwemers. Theoretically you can create furniture made from dwemer scrap but it could be next step after normal dwemer's things.
Okay, thank you, lukkar!
if you want to add some damage to basics ones, do it in that degree that they will be still usable. You can create also completely destroyed but I don't think there is any need for them right now. Communist Ikea stuff can survive centuries :)
Some stuff I currently working on... Not many time, not many progress, but still go forward...
Raw pics ;) Maded while sitting on work... =)
I changed it to sth else, looks better in my opinion
Well I promised to deliver illustration for chest/casket, so I delivered. In your chest it will probably in front and back. The same bad quality as original.
Table and stool (with turbosmooth)
Sorry form extremely late respond but stool and table are both tables.
Explanation (link to video). Well, I don't demand to animate this, but to make it a bit more convincing.
Good job btw.
Ill be working on some of this when I get free time. Aiming for one asset a night.
I will be making them based off of this sheet here:
Currently made numbers 1 and 4.a
great useful thing.
in this case function is obvious, but what about other 5 - 7 ones?
Anyway, I have request to anyone who uses any of my concept, to read description below too. If you are not sure about sth, try to find picture by google (searching by image) on this site. Well, it was overall declaration, not about Erik.
