Original games needed for Skywind / Skyblivion - which language version?

I came across some preliminary youtube videos showing the enhanced graphics of Skywind an Skyblivion, and immediately I became a fan of this project. But I'm new to this site, so forgive me if someone asked the same question before.

It is said here that in order to use Skywind - once it is released, that is -

  • You must own and install Skyrim, including the Dawnguard and Dragonborn Expansions.

  • You must own and install Morrowind, including the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions

It is also said on a thread here that there will be no German version of Skywind - only maybe a subtitled one somewhere in the distant future.

Will it be possible to run Skywind/Skyblivion with a GERMAN original version of Morrowind, Tribunal + Bloodmoon and a German version of Skyrim + expansions?

Not to get me wrong - I won't mind playing the game in English, but I'm shy on buying the originals a second time - just to have an ENGLISH version ....

Anyway - great work so far, what I could watch on youtube!

For Skyblivion I will be

For Skyblivion I will be patching original Oblivion.esm into Skyblivion.esm, and that patch will rely on the english GOTY(delux) version which includes SI expansion. Other languages won't work unfortunately unless I have access to their master files to create appropriate patchers too, which I doubt.

Beware with translated

Beware with translated versions. English mods did not work with the french version of morrowind because there were huge translation problems.

Are .esm of Oblivion

Are .esm of Oblivion different between languages? In Skyrim, the .esm files (including DLC's) are identical between languages, or at least it is like this between English and Spanish versions.

And can't you just get the files from Steam legally anyway or free language change doesn't apply to Oblivion?

I can send you by PM the French esms for both Morrowind & Oblivion GotY if you wish.

Ah cool, I was wondering why

Ah cool, I was wondering why I needed Morrowind. I was concerned with having to buy it again since my copy is for Original Xbox.
