Seems odd that your SPAM filter goes off and locks me out when I make a post.  I think a post frm a logged in member should always be accepted, and if the post is inflamatory, trolling, or flaming the member should be delt with accordingly. When an automated SPAM filter makes the choice everyone loses ..

Sad.

It's very difficult to

It's very difficult to balance the protection of the site from spammers with the ease of use for users.  I will look into a better system, but I'm not sure I can make it much better.  Remember, the entire site is built with free, open source software.  You get what you pay for.

It was happening when I tried

It was happening when I tried to get a different 'captcha' word.  No problems today, tho.

Do you see a lot of SPAM?

We used to, yes.  Sometimes

We used to, yes.  Sometimes hundreds of spam messages a day, when the site was still using an unpatched, deprecated version of Drupal with lots of security holes and no captcha.  You should be able to skip captcha now.
