Description

After visiting the shrine of pride and offered a soulgem, I don't get the required quest update to complete the quest.

I had the same problem but I was able to get past it by going to the Mage's Guild in Vivec and using the Experimental Soulgem Discharger.  Before I used two empty soul gems and the shrine took them and the quest told me that I had read the Pride thing, but it still didn't register that I completed the quest until I went to Vivec and discharged one of my soul gems (they MUST be petty soul gems or the discharger does nothing).  Once I did that, it accepted my soul gem and the quest completed as it was supposed to.

 Having trouble with this part of the game. Everytime we put a SoulGem into it nothing happens? No update stating the Quest is completed? Anyone know about or have had this problem?

It worked when i offered an empty petty soulgem.

You need an EMPTY Petty Soul Gem.

This was indicated in the Quest Notes, and the Queen of the Ashlands made a Soul Gem Discharger exactly for this purpose.

The quest notes state:

"Pilgrimage of the Seven Graces-Oblivion's leveled lists don't have many empty soul gems, so for the Ghostgate pilgrimage I added a "Petty Soulgem Discharger" to the Mages Guild in Vivec. It on a dresser in one of the bedrooms."

That's not the same thing as "you need an empty petty soul gem" - the notes should be tweaked at the least to clarify this, and preferably there should be some in-game indication that only one type of empty gem works.

I took 1 of each empty soul gems with me that fixed the problem. Finished playing Temple Quest right through, no problems with any of the quest lines.
