Ulummusa is a tiny cave cut into the corner of the hills just northwest of Pelagiad.

It is home to a pair of bandits who have been raiding the local villages. The first, Terenu Uveran, should not pose too great a challenge. The second of the two, Godrod Hairy-Breeks, is easily the more dangerous.

Among their paltry haul is a precious silver bowl which can be returned to its owner for a reward.

I'll claim this instead of the egg mine then. :D

I'm ready to show what I've done now. [External image]

-------------------------------------

Layout: (Taken at a stooped angle because of the crevice piece. The crevice piece is stopped up with a rock btw so there's no actual view of the sky.)

All pieces were replaced EXCEPT for the large room simply because there was no replacement for it and building it manually would have changed it way too much. I made do with what I had though which I will show further below.

-------------------------------------

Entrance:

Sorry that the image is so dark.

-------------------------------------

"Intersection": (Just a 3way piece with a dead end cap where there was nothing before. Just wanted to mix the walls up a little.)

And then there's a problem. I don't if it's on my end but the second twist model for the mold caves has this rainbow material on the roots. Some other mold cave pieces have this kind of thing in some areas too. But like I said, it might just be on my end. I would need someone else to test this model to be sure.

-------------------------------------

First Bandit Area:

Again, sorry for the dark image but this is how it's supposed to be!

I set up a small patrol route along this hallway for the bandit that spawns here as well. I think she was behind me when I took this picture. :P

-------------------------------------

Big Room: (You might want to 'right click -> view image' on this one...)

Because I couldn't outright replace the room mesh that was already here, I just added rocks to fill it in more and mishape the walls further. I also did other things of course. :P

-------------------------------------

Quest Item Area:

Although really minor, this is the biggest change of the level. The quest item among others sat on top of the chest. However, with chest opening animations in Skyrim and those items not tilting along with the chest top... well, it just didn't seem very aesthetically pleasing when the items clipped through the chest itself. So I created a barrel right next to the chest with all of those items on top instead.

-------------------------------------

Navmeshed and cluttered to a satisfactory degree.

I'm enclosing the current .esp file for other devs to play/test/review. Just post here with feedback if applicable.

Known issues:

First bandit's patrol route got messed up and she just stops after heading back to her initial idle marker. Gotta figure that one out.

Pretty sure I have to finalize my navmesh again due to changing it some. (But you shouldn't know that unless you opened it up in the editor. You didn't open this up in the editor... did you?)

10/10

I may have to refer people to you for help doing caves.

Its the small things that make the difference. You'll find long corridors in morrowind caves that feel more like a hallways in a building than caves, and so putting kinks, etc is the way to go to make them more real.

The rainbow colors are a bug that needs to be fixed

It might not actually be a priority but I do consider this to be my responsibility to report on this.

Who did the landscaping for the Ascadian Isles around Pelagiad?

This bothers me greatly. I think it's part of a mesh replacement for cave doors though so it's not their fault but I'm going to need the door brought down/the land brought up by them. I would do it myself but I was told by Squally not to touch landscaper's work in the Shulk Egg Mine thread sooo.

(Also need them to get that damn pole out of that rock!)

This looks good.  What are you using/ doing to clean files before review? I have about 10 updated interiors I roughly completed that need this done.

Also, I imagine the landscape will change a great deal.  So I'm also guessing that minor exterior changes here may be moot if things are moved or replaced or optimized in the future.

Oh. I hadn't actually done any cleaning on that esp. But I just used tes5edit to make sure that Ulumussa was the only cell touched in this new esp.

For some unknown reason, the navmesh in Ulummusa tries to reference door markers in Solstheim but gives up. Not quite sure what's up with that but I don't think it breaks anything.

I've made a new esp with sounds and acoustic areas. I also added the cooking fire back and added some more rocks around the hammocks.

This cave in this new esp is, in my eyes, shippable. But again, if anyone would like to review it, I'm linking it here.

Looks awesome!

About that rainbow bug - do you have texture quality setting maxed in Skyrim's launcher?

Yes.

Also I just realized the latest version of the esp crashes the game on loading the area. Can anyone confirm?

EDIT: Never mind. The game didn't want me testing the graphics on medium. Go figure.

Also I should mention that I'm considering the cave completed unless I get told to change/fix something! [External image]\

EDIT2: Not sure if the last esp has even been looked at so I'm uploading just one last revision. The campfire's shadows were flipping out. I fixed it while still maintaining shadows on other objects.

Actually I just updated the esp one last time up in my last post. Sorry about that.

It's literally the same but with a lighting change.

But cool! Might shift through to another cave and select another tomorrow.

I took a look at this as well, and it's great! One thing however, we want to avoid using Skyrim ingredients. I know you had a few mushrooms like Namira's Rot and other stuff, so that will have to be changed. Also, if using any Skyrim pieces like the knife and table/stool and a few other pieces, try to use Skywinds models for now. If you HAVE to use a Skyrim model, make sure you make a copy of it and rename the duplicate something with a "0" or "01" at the beginning so we can keep track of it.

Fixed.

Thanks for letting me know.
