Taunt in Engine
Taunt adds a Morrowind-style Taunt mechanic to Oblivion’s persuasion menu. Instead of replacing dialogue with a fake topic or scripted spell, Taunt integrates directly into the vanilla Persuasion Menu. It adds a real Taunt button alongside Bribe, Rotate, Start, and Done.
Pressing Taunt rolls against the active NPC using Speechcraft, Personality, and Luck. On success, it lowers disposition, builds per-NPC taunt heat, and can eventually provoke combat.
Features
• Morrowind-style Taunt action inside Oblivion’s persuasion menu.
• Separate native Taunt button, not a dialogue topic.
• Preserves vanilla Start, Rotate, Bribe, and Done behavior.
• Speechcraft, Personality, and Luck-based success checks.
• Per-target taunt heat stored in the OBSE co-save.
• Successful Taunts can trigger combat immediately through an escalating combat roll.
• Heat threshold remains a guaranteed combat fallback.
• Bribe spends gold, restores disposition, and reduces taunt heat.
• Rotate cycles Taunt intensity while preserving vanilla wheel behavior.
• Guard-specific bounty containment for Taunt-triggered combat.
• Combat-spread suppression to avoid unrelated nearby NPCs joining incorrectly.
• NorthernUI-aware controller support.
• Plugin-aware DialogMenu topic hiding for stray [Taunt] topics.
