I too have been working on clothing, particularly focusing on the deviations between the houses when it comes to dress.
First, I came up with some house clothing trends based on my research and created a bunch of concepts:

They are numbered for easy reference, and each marked with the capital letter of which house they would belong to (D for Dres, R for Redoran etc.). Originally I was planning to refine these concepts a good deal further, but after getting a feel for it and receiving feedback from Denevir and Dragomir, I decided to move on to other clothing concepts, focusing more critically on a characters outfit such as this Hlaalu Caravan Leader (normally he would ride a guar):

Now I plan to use what I've learned about house styles to elaborate further on my original concepts in a similar singular studies to the Hlaalu Traveler above. And I plan to focus on these aspects in particular as I might not have captured them best in the first drawings:
-Making the shapes and patterns (in particular the decorative pauldrons) reflect house trends eg. Curled intricate shapes for Telvanni, smooth, rounded shapes with western influences for Hlaalu.
-Investigating jewelry and other Dunmer accessories (goggles, belts, hats, wraps).
-Capturing the looks of certain jobs and figures within their societies. Give them some characterization for fun.
-And WOMEN. How do the styles change between genders?
Of course any feedback is welcome, and I will add to this thread when I have more :)

Just to clarify after talking to a concerned member- The majority of these clothes are expensive or even exquisite class (in the case of the Indoril), hence their ornateness and complexity (it would be woven from spider silk). A couple of the Redoran and Hlaalu are more simply dressed because they hold lower stations within their house. The Dunmer are a proud and arrogant people, so it is not surprising that the nobles would flaunt their wealth and influence. There are a couple of other concept artists that are already working on the important middle and lower class side of things, but I do plan to do a couple of simpler outfits for more practical work such as the Redoran Ashwalker/Messenger (non-armored) I have planned next.
I like the strangely Mongolian inspiration that you poured into Dres - with the armor pieces, this definitely gives them a separate identity than the other houses. These are all spot-on in my opinion for exquisite clothes for the Houses. I dig the western influence in the Hlaalu's attire, and eastern traditions of Redoran. The two I would like to see more of would be the Telvanni and Indoril; currently the designs for them seem very similar. It would be nice to drive more of a cleric/religious look into the Indoril to differentiate them a tad better. Even the color schemes seem similar at this point.

Good call Taj, I'll elaborate on that :) Apart from the ordinators and almalexia's stylizing, does anyone know of some solid Indoril references? In terms of the colours, I was planning on a colour scheme of predominantly blue, white and gold for em, so I'll make that more obvious in my next drawings. Maybe some more vibrant colours on the Telvanni too, what do you guys think?
Great stuff. We are getting to that stage however where we really need modelers to come to the party to make these a reality for the game.
Still got them denevir, just wanted to see if anybody had any other references with colour or ideas before I started on new stuff :)
Hi all, I just wanted to share with you some really rough sketches for clothes. If your eye catch something please let me know. I hope you can see the idea behind these :)
btw today after some chat with Yixist i started working on clothes of the townsfolk: shop-venders, beggars and craftsmen, middle-lower class,.. so expect some detailed concepts since i know what i should focus on.
I actually really like many of the original in-game outifts, and most don't conflict with any sort of lore, only sometimes who they are placed on, and the fact that there weren't enough- though we see that problem in every tes game-. I hope we don't just leave them behind, i hope to see a mix of old and new clothing sets
also, keep in mind, simplicity is often beauty
I hear you saivryn, don't worry not everything will be so busy/ornate, I liked the original clothing too. Hopefully this will put you at ease though, even though it's a little rough- A Redoran Courier (Ashwalker) wearing common clothing (With a couple other pieces) :
Next up will be an Indoril Priestess.
Good one Dzafa! Silhouettes are always a great place to start, and some of them are looking pretty MK-ish, which is great. Definitely look up the original Morrowind clothing as suggested but feel free to adapt it or add new garments. Denevir sent me a bunch of links a while back, but I'm afraid they've stopped working or I'd send them to you. You should be able to find them pretty easily online though. Cant wait to see what you come up with! I'm expecting great things from you :)
http://www.darkcreations.org/ do you guys know about this site ? maybe we could recruit some of them if they are willing to join.
^ lol
@ the redoran courier
yes, now at ease
