Hello again, since the Nordic Weapons had already been designed I have started working on the set of steel weapons. I have been told to move away from the classic design of the game, where all steel weapons looked like 14th century medieval weapons. Instead I was told to try to make the weapons look as though they were crafted by Dunmer, using the steel found around Morrowind. Anyway, I'm excited to see what you guys think. Thanks in advance for the feedback =D

Although I like your silhouettes, I think it´s a good idea to adjust the shapes to a more functional and elegant design, too. Some of the shapes (6, 10, 14, 18) are very cool, I would use them with a slight more curved look.
The crude weapons are very cool, though I think they will be a nice base for stahlrim or huntsmann weapons either?
Hell, I think with some design changes they could work well even for glass (swords especially).
*drools over thoughts of designing glass weapons*...anyway lol, I am currently doing another page of weapons so I can show you guys a different direction I wanted to go, It may fit better than the last ones.
Alright, I've done another page just to give another perspective. For these I was kind of feeling a more, 'Elric of Melnibone' feel to them, for all the Micheal Moorcock fans out there. also being inspired by 'Messer' swords.
Great! Excellent! Cool! Some thoughts/ suggestions:
2-12 are perfect imo, also 14, 15 and 19. The guard of 1 could be more simple, perhaps like the one in 4?
13 and 17 look a bit too knightly in my eyes. I would like to see them lighter. Perhaps make 13 a beard-axe or tomahawk? 17 is a halberd I think, you can probably think about asiatic weapon (Naginata) shapes for it?
16 and 18 could be just a bit lighter in the shafts.
Great work!
Alright, the sketches are done, and now after a little critique and feedback I'll be finishing these and moving on. I went mostly with he designs of my first sheet, yet refined the shapes to try and keep an elegance to them. let me know what you guys think, and I appreciate all the input.
i particularly like swords 2/3 and 5, they feel streamlined with the right amount of flair. really enjoy ax thirteen, could definitely chop off some limbs with that thing. it's heavy, but refined.
are there going to be Katana and other japanese styled weapons in skywind? i liked that about morrowind.
Imperial weapons set will be extended, and will include katanas. No other katanas are to be included, as they are akaviri weapons.
Alright. Here is my final rendering of the steel weapons. Let me know what you guys think!
lookin good!
There are 2 small knife like weapons. I'm presuming one will be a throwing knife and one will be the dagger?
So Akaviri style weaponry won't be in any other set except the Imperial? I can understand not including the Iron Akaviri weapons, because it doesn't fit the slightly crude feeling, but what about Daedric?
Akaviri weapons in the imperial steel set.
Yes, one is the dagger, the other is the throwing knife. I guess Akaviri weapons will not be in the daedric set either, at least not recognisable as akaviri. That said, it is very likely that some curved blades with a tsuba-shaped thing at the hilt will end up in the daedric set.
Nothing too fancy in the imperial steel, huh. Just showing that we'll have katanas, but not in the dumer-style set.
What about sabers? It doesn't have to be Akaviri weaponry to be a curved blade. Sabers always strike me as naval weapons, and with the coastline that Morrowind has(the longest in Tamriel?) I should think they have native designs. The original concepts included a saber, why the final one doesn't is strange.
People wanted katanas. There are imperial katanas.
We removed the saber, the dai katana, the shurikens, etc, so we could expand the imperial steel set from two to fourteen weapons, and have a clear dichotomy between local and imported weapons.
Just wanted to update my work on the Steel weapon set, I finished these some time ago, but I realized I never posted the final version, some things have been tweaked and changed according to feedback from the community and help from Nexos. Let me know what you guys think.
The blade of third sword from the left looks a bit bland without any kind of texture or any notable features. The same kinda applies to the spear, but to a lesser extent. Everything else looks great!
maybe you could try curving the swords slightly, like in dragomir's bonemold concept art, and for the axe bladed weapons, using sharper lines rather than the standard semi circle. idk, that's just my opinion almsivi bless.
I have a question about the swords: how are those crossguards supposed to be aligned when holding the weapon? I like the look of it, but I imagine they might be a little uncomfortable when actually wielding the weapon. Edit: to clarify: if the crossguard, or part of it juts out towards the hand of the wielder it is going to get in the way, not to mention that such an angle is detrimental to the purpose of a crossguard: to catch an enemy's blade. I feel the design would be more practical if you curved the crossguard slightly so that the part that sticks out towards the wielder's hand in the current design sticks out at a straight angle instead.
I wouldn't mind a V-shaped crossguard either. They do seem like they'd limit the movement of the weapon terribly and possibly could harm the wielder's wrist.

*waiting for the "u don need realismity in fantasity" argument*
Something like this wouldn't lose much of its character while being a bit more practical:
I'm also not a big fan of having that many sharp, jagged angles and lines broken in so many places. This is Morrowind, not Erebor - Dunmer designs usually tend to be smooth and flowing, with a touch of wild to it.
