Skywind monster idea | Morroblivion

I have an idea for a creature to place in the waist lands of Morrowind. I call it the Phassoga. It should be programmed to blend into the rock of the dessert and use it's claws to imitate vegetation, thus indicating water. If the prey sees the water in the dessert, it will go there and try to eat it. That's when the Phassoga attacks. It would be a good source of Chitin plates as well as leather and jelly. But difficult to locate on the radar of Skyrim's system.

Look at the file attached for a drawing. If you see no file, please let me know so I may re-post it. - Daks

Last topic which you created was closed and in this one I post what wanted to. Maybe some people will be thinking this is unnecessary bulling u but it's not, I treat u seriously and try to just save u from further disappointments. I know what I say.

I will say why this concept is not good enough.

1. I don't see whole character. Modeler/whatever need see whole thing to model.

2. It's more like sketch to further development than final concept. Sth like that (Adam Adomicz concept fo Skyrim) Just loose doodling to have choice. It depends what do u want to show with your concept. In that case if u want to give coordinates to modeler it should be more depicted. This is why I sent you link to our gallery to show u how u have to be good to contribute sth.

3. U don't have good proportions (I just recommend u loomis books in this area, just for start). U don't need super accuracy but it has to be good enough

4. It hasn't got color or texture. It looks more like wireframe and line is messy a bit. Try posemaniacs a bit to develop a gesture. Or maybe some Vilppu.

5. U didn't make study if is it lore friendly, how armor should look like (why armor looks like it looks and how it "works"). It is very important step in ANY concepting.

6. U hurried up! Yes, concept should be done quite fast and it has no sense if someone have to wait for it too long but in that way u will not learn ANYTHING. It's long painful and sometimes very disappointing process to learn. Some people do them fast them because they spend a lot of time by learning and developing themselves and they had a lot of disappointments on their way. For example Shaddy Safadi (I don't know exactly where) said that he even would not hire himself several years ago. But he didn't GIVE UP! It's long process to master yourself. None is not good at start. Talent is very small fraction of your skills, the biggest part is hard work on yourself. Basics are crucial.

6. I suppose it brings you a lot of joy if u sent several posts with your ideas in short period of time. Then I write down some things which could be useful for u for further development.

For beginners which I recommended strongly for u:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-LGN9XKjFk (whole channel)

absolutely basics of digital painting

http://www.ctrlpaint.com/

I now it's not free but u it is very good.

The whole channel is gold. At the begging (whole channel) u have impression that this is only advert for his school but later it is very informative. It this video u have explained what is concept art

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TVji_fiKsw&list=UUbdyjrrJAjDIACjCsjAGFAA

And maybe u will need some support groups like http://4chan-ic.deviantart.com/ or http://unmotivatedlosers.deviantart.com/gallery/ which last one I belonged to. It's also http://www.conceptart.org/go/learn/ but I don't recommend u on this stage. And of course many, many more...

Now is questions why I post it public, not on PM. It's not to show how bad u are or humiliate u openly. It's only to show rest which can have similar problems like u why we reject some works and how they have chance to improve. We need to keep workflow and we want to make Skywind best as we can. I don't just want to writing again and again this same if is not needed. Second reason is that maybe if u have some questions, other people might to help u. And then u get better feedback. But honestly this place is not created for such advices. The reason that u were welcomed by someones in that way is that u are not first here. And then maybe some people are tired of this.

Best luck, give you some time and then we will see some results ;) Most important is not to give up!
