Just want to see opinions, and criticism for this small row boat I made for Skywind. I am fairly new to modelling and thus don't know how good it is. Please don't just say its good or bad, tell me how to improve it and I will try my best. Also If anyone else wants to work on it I can upload the file for them to use as a base.
Cheers Cosmo

The outer shape looks good, but I can't see the inner structure / construction. Can you please post a better screenshot, with and without NPC sitting in the boat?
You could use les modern peddle holder thingies. Use 1 or 2 Iron pin's or wooden constructs, like in picture below.
take another screenshot without textures and with wireframe.
Thanks for taking care of it for me I had no idea what I was doing :(
Ok at the moment its really high poly but I will make it low poly soon.
P.s. Had to take the screenshots in Blender so hence the GUI around the edges
It looks pretty good! If you want to make it look more like that reference picture, I would suggest creating hull ribs, and perhaps giving the outside shape a little more roundness. Otherwise, looking nice :)
Yeah I was going off a different reference image, but I can make a new one using that image if necessary.
Considering uploading the high poly model for someone to re map the UV's and to make Low Poly etc. Anyone interested in doing so???
Hi I made the model low poly myself, and will upload it as well as the normal map. I will also upload the high poly model, incase anyone wants to use these models (mind you the uv map for the high poly boat is different to that of the low poly boat. BTW they are both .obj files. hopefully they can be of use.
FittedMushroom, the High Poly doesn't need to be UV'ed.
If you're using xNormal to create the normal maps(like most people here), only the Low Poly version needs to be UV'ed.
For further doubts, try to PM Ravanna, he can help you more than I can.
Yeah I know, however i made uv's for the high poly model for testing purposes before making it low poly and I just used Blender to make the UV's. I just figured I would state that the uvs for the high poly boat incase people needed to know for whatever reason.
Ok so after a long time, and a lot of bad models. I have finally made that darn boat Low Poly and looking pretty good, using a basic wood texture for normal maps not a stupid bake, sorry for my stupidity... Here the model is much cleaner and hopefully now may actually be of use now rather than before, what should I add to it for more detail? btw the model is about 1479 faces and about 2949 tris, however I can probs lower the amount of such more if necessary
