[miniHUB]Skywind translation into Polish. Looking for translators!

Hello, dzień dobry!

I am glad to announce that work on Polish translation of Skywind will start soon. The amount of text that needs to be translated is giant, so I'm looking for some translators.

Small FAQ:

Q: Why are you doing Polish translation?

A: Because Polish TES community is pretty big, and we want to pay tribute to Morrowind and whole Skywind idea.

Q: Why you need to translate it into Polish? Surely there will be Russian translation!

A: Poland =/= Russia. Polish =/= Russian.

Q: Will you be doing Polish voice acting?

A: No! We won't have enough time and voice actors to record 35000+ dialogue lines.

Q: Are you looking for some help?

A: Yes! But you must be full of zeal and have proper amount of time. And of course you must perfectly know Polish language. If you think you meet those conditions PM me.

Thanks for the attention and have a nice day! Do widzenia!

What is "=/="? Is "=/=" = "!=

What is "=/="? Is "=/=" = "!="?
There are big % of Polish and Russian people here. I think you will get help later.

However, games are good way to learn english (or dunmerish :0 ) and many translations can lost some sense.
btw Russian <===> Polish translations have good % of successful automatic translation, because of recent common ancestor,
so they can help each other.

Ja Pierdolie! Is that how you

Ja Pierdolie! Is that how you say it?

Jokes aside, good luck with this. Theres been quite a lot of people starting to translate skywind to several different languages, none have finished afaik.

Umm... Polish and Russian don't even use the same alphabet. They aren't very close.

I mean : there isnt need for

I mean : there isnt need for big changes in syntax or word roles when you are translating between slavic languages,
so even automatic translator can make mostly correct sentences. For example i can read translated from Polish to Russian wiki articles without questions.

Alphabets accepted by west and east slavs independently. West slavs just accepted Latin alphabet of Catholic priests (with later sort-of-adaptation by diacritics), while east slavs adopt own system, based on Greek's system and invented by Greek philosophers/priests to suit big frequency of sounds, that are rare in european languages (like Ф, Ц, Ч, Ш, Щ). Alphabetic systems are irrelevant to basic language rules and vocal similarity.

This thread is not for debate

This thread is not for debate about the mutual understandability of Polish with Russian or other Slavic languages. Polish translation can happen if people are into it. Same with Russian, Skywind does not have the option to have automatic translators worked into the subtitles so this project has merit as is.

W końcu ktoś myśli o tym żeby

Finally, Kurwa Mać :D, someone is thinking about this to translate into Polish language Skywind, I'm all for it, I'd be happy to help but I have no idea about this. Poland and Russia are two different worlds, just a different mentality, but most people do not have on this concept.

Sure, Poland is different

Sure, Poland is different world, as you wish :)
I just meant that using of Polish translation can greatly help on work on Russian one, and backwards.
Big parts of text can be translated automatically with successful quality between slavic languages.

I'm not sure about your idea

I'm not sure about your idea alysander, in my opinion it won't help, but I'm not really into automatic translations. Moreover Polish translation team will be small and progress won't be fast. This FAQ question was supposed to be a joke, but none understood. :/

To all that are willing to help: I'll post here advanced plan and all materials that will be needed on Saturday/Sunday; PM me any time to let me know that you are interested.

Thank you for whole Skywind project, dziękujemy!
