[REL] Morroblivion Portable Campsite and Pickable Bedrolls

The file (27kb): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VEQzujbcEMLZyv4T-zBQcMTS5vv...

This mod is an edit of Portable Campsite (link at the bottom) that lets you pick up bedrolls from the game world and carry them around, as well as buy some portable items for life in the wild: stools, campfires, bedrolls, a portable sack, and tents. You can find them for sale at tradehouses, Imperial forts, and Ashlander camps.

To use them, drop them from your inventory. You will drop some placeholders instead. You can move them around a bit first to get them in the right place; press spacebar to activate them and you will have the actual stool, fireplace etc. If you don't want an upside-down bedroll, keep in mind that items will get the orientation of the placeholders! (they're super-easy to use, though)

  • Stool: spacebar to sit, crouch + spacebar to pick it back up.
  • Fireplace: spacebar to ignite the fire or to extinguish it, crouch + spacebar to pick it back up.
  • Bedroll: spacebar to sleep. When you sleep, it works just like any other bed, which makes it compatible with other mods like Essential Needs. Crouch + spacebar to pick it back up.
  • Tent: Crouch + spacebar to pick it back up. As far as I could see, it's merely cosmetic.
  • Sack: Spacebar to use it like a chest, crouch + spacebar to pick it up. You can also click on it while it's in your inventory to activate it.
    • The sack will weigh as much as what you put in it.
    • However, it does have a little magical property: all sacks you buy access the same inventory. In other words, if you buy a sack from Arrille and leave it in Seyda Neen, and then buy one in Dagon Fel from Fryfnhild, the one you bought in Dagon Fel will let you access the items you left in the one in Seyda Neen.

This mod also lets you pick up any unowned bedroll and turn it into a portable bedroll. To pick up an unowned bedroll, crouch + spacebar. If you try to do it with an owned bedroll, you will get the usual "You can't sleep in an owned bed!" message, and you won't be able to pick it up. This works with Oblivion bedrolls, too; however, after you have picked them up, they will all look like Morrowind bedrolls.

You can sleep in bedrolls as usual using just the spacebar (no crouching).

THIS MOD GOES GREAT WITH...

  • Duke Patrick's Hypothermia: fight against the cold!
  • Essential needs: Fight against sleep!
  • And probably more mods that improve dealing with the surrounding world.
  • Also, screenshots and ambiance ;)

CAVEAT (which more or less means, "careful now"): I have used this mod a lot in Morroblivion. However, I haven't used it in Oblivion. In other words, if Oblivion has a mission where you have to sleep in a certain bedroll, you might be able to pick it up and turn it into a portable bedroll, which would make it impossible to end the quest without using the console. There is just one unique bedroll I noticed in the Construction Set, the one in Bliss on the Shivering Isles, so you won't be able to pick that one.

WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO

Create a larger mod or modlist to deepen the relationship with the environment and allow a more "freeform" gameplay. Also a patch for Duke's Hypothermia, because it makes sneaking a pain (I already edited it on my PC, but Patrick generally has strict rules about his mods).
