Chargen and Transport not activating

Hi all. New to Morroblivion but not new to modding. I have a stable but moderately mod-heavy game of Oblivion I'm into and have installed Morroblivion with Wrye Bash. Installation was a breeze with the guide, and everything looks like it should. I installed the master, the core mod, as well as Chargen and Transport, Voiced Convos, etc that were all packaged with the official Morroblivion download. Ran BOSS of course to make sure everything ended up where it should be.

Since I'm midway through my current save I went to the Imperial Prison area to find the khajiit who will transport me to Morrowind, but I can't find them. I have a detect life spell so I can easily see every Imperial Guard and Jailor wandering around outside the Bastion's courtyard, but there's no kitty friend. I've waited all hours of the day just in case, but no sign of the khajiit.

I know Morroblivion itself is compatible with most mods that just change textures etc, but should I be looking in my load order for any kind of mod that might be affecting the Imperial City area? Because I'm honestly stumped at this point.

(Also, is there a handy way to run off my load order or should I just screencap Wrye Bash?)

Wrye Bash can generate a text

Wrye Bash can generate a text list if you right click on the header and select List Mods.  However, a screencapture of the Mods tab and the Installers tab of Wrye Bash will probably give us a quicker idea if you have any common installation problems.  My first guess is that you may have installed "Morrowind_ob - Chargen and Transport Mod.esp", but that file is not activated (check-marked) in your load order.

Please do all of these steps:

Please do all of these steps:

1. Verify that Morroblivion is properly installed: make sure that Oblivion\Data\Morroblivion.ini is configured with this line:

set mwMainMenu.AltStart to 1

Then run the game from the steam client, if you have the steam version of Oblivion, or the OBSE_Loader if you are using the GOG or CD version of Oblivion.  Immediately after the game starts and you see the main menu, select New Game.  Tell us if your game starts in the regular Imperial City Prison or in the Seyda Neen boat.

2. Open Wrye Bash and go to the Mods tab, make sure that the window is resized properly so that the full names of the ESPs are visible.  Take a screen shot and post it here.

3. Go to the Installers tab of Wrye Bash.  Resize the window so that we can see the full filenames of the mod packages.  Take a screen shot and post it here.

4. Post the Oblivion\obse.log and Oblivion\obse_loader.log files here.

ponyrider -- cheers, didn't

ponyrider -- cheers, didn't know about that shortcut to generate modlist. The mod is checked and ticked and I even unticked and reticked a few times just in case it wasn't sticking.

set mwMainMenu.AltStart to 1 -- checked, good to go here.

Starting a new game launches Morroblivion perfectly; I see the Morrowind cinematic, the character creation on the boat, etc.

Open Cities Outer Districts

Open Cities Outer Districts.esp may be the problem, if it is replacing the original Imperial Prison courtyard cell with a copy in the Tamriel worldspace.  I've never used Open Cities before, so I don't know for sure.  I believe Diana TES GotH has a Morroblivion Overhaul Guide which uses Open Cities Reborn, perhaps she is aware of some Morroblivion compatibility patch...

Here's a theoretical workaround that places the NPC and the script's travelmarker outside the Imperial City Prison (***EDIT: accidentally placed her outside the Arcane University, go there and try waiting 24H ***)gates: MorroblivionTransport_OpenCitiesOuterDistricts_Patch.7z

Unfortunately, that might not work if you've already saved your game with the Morroblivion Transport Mod enabled, since the modified persistent records might already be instantiated and would then be loaded from the savegame and not from the ESP... it's worth a try.

Ah, thanks for catching that

Ah, thanks for catching that -- definitely makes sense and I suspected it had to be that kind of a conflict. Thank you so much for the workaround -- it didn't work for the reason you gave, but I was able to disable the Outer Districts part of Open Cities without any issues, waited 24 hours, and finally the khajiit was there. So for now I can finally play Morroblivion without too much of a sacrifice and I can't wait. :D Thank you for your help troubleshooting!
