Morrowind alchemists only selling Oblivion ingredients

Submitted by Frozenwolf150 on

I don't know if this is normal, or when it took effect, but I didn't notice anything wrong when in Seyda Neen.  All the alchemy ingredients I found in containers were from the Morrowind set.  However, once I got to Balmora, I installed some menu and interface mods, which I didn't think would have any effect on vendor lists.  When I looked at the store inventories of the various alchemy vendors, like Nalcarya of White Haven or Sharn gra-Muzgob (of the Mages Guild) they only sold Oblivion ingredients, with the exception of small kwama egg.

My load order looks like this:

Ajira in the Mages Guild has 65 in her Shopping list. Try Deactivating what you put on before you went to Balmora.Could also be todo with your Alchemy Level.

Not having any Morrowind ingredients is definitely not right.  The correct Morroblivion behavior is for alchemy vendors to sell both Morrowind and Oblivion-type ingredients and apparatti.  Most of the vendor stock is sold from hidden containers -- it's possible that either the owner subrecord, or the contents or the container records themselves were somehow broken by a load order change.  I would rebuild your bashed patch, start a new game and verify that the problem is still present in the new game.

Also, make sure you are using the unofficial version 1.1 of Morroblivion Buyable homes -- the original is not compatible with Morroblivion v064.  MorroblivionNewMap.esp has dirty edits from an older version of Morroblivion which might break some Morroblivion v064 quests but I don't know for sure since I've never used it.  I've also never used Harvest Nearby Flora, QZ Easy Menus, or Retroactive Health, but I would assume that they have no effect on Morroblivion Interior Cells (and therefor have no affect on alchemy vendor ingredient lists).

It seems to only affect certain vendors, now that I look at it.  Sharn only had Oblivion ingredients, whereas Nalcarya did indeed have both kinds.  It might be the bashed patch, so I'll take your advice on rebuilding it.  However, I'm not sure where to find version 1.1 of Morroblivion Buyable Homes-- I suppose I can live without it since I'm actually using Ralen Hlaalo's home in Balmora like I always did in Morrowind.

Morroblivion Buyable Homes Unofficial v1.1 is here: https://tesrenewal.com/comment/84450#comment-84450

Sharn should only have small kwama egg as a Morrowind ingredient (the rest of the ingredients are from an Oblivion leveled list).  However, she should stock many Morrowind potions and a few books, in addition to the Oblivion items.

If those are the only two vendors you think were affected -- it sounds like there's nothing broken.  I would just keep playing your game.  Enjoy.
