So ive been at this all day, i dont know what im doing, and now the plain goty oblivion wont work anymore. I followed the installation steps, but as i said, noob. So i biffed and figured it would be easier to uninstall everything and start from scratch. Did that, reinstalled. Now the game wont launch without any mods. The launcher comes up and i hit play, attempts to load, immediate crash. It worked fine this morning before i screwed with anything...
I went wrong with the OBSE im pretty sure, as there were instructions on the installation of it, go figure... Didnt realize that until not too long ago, but ive already tried reinstalling 4 times and getting frustrated. Its the steam version of goty.
Any suggestions?
After removing Oblivion from your steam launcher, you will also want to:
1. Delete the entire ...\steamapps\common\Oblivion\ directory from your steam folder,
2. Delete the ...\Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini.
Then reinstall Oblivion and OBSE. I suggest you review several "OBSE steam install" videos before trying it yourself. Here are a few:

Some of the youtube videos use mod-managers to install OBSE, but I recommend you install OBSE by manually copying all the files into the \Oblivion\ directory. This is because none of the mod-managers currently available have seamless support for installing OBSE and OBSE plugins.
See, I didnt go into documents... Told you i was noob. But I did do more research on the OBSE and think Ive got it this time. Just deleted the .ini and reinstalling again. Will see how this goes, thank you very much
That was the solution. Thanks you kindly my friend, Im going to try this whole thing again
