skeletonWerewolf.nif

Submitted by Diana TES GotH on

Wrye Bash is looking for a .nif file that it apparently is unable to find. Can someone please help me figure this out?

Wrye Bash Error: The system cannot find the file specified: u'E:\\Games\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Oblivion\\Data\\Meshes\\Characters\\_male\\skeletonWerewolf.nif'

Nevermind, I found it in the Curse of Hircine mod.

When I had Wrye problems when using Mod Organizer I found it easier to cancel the initial file check that happens when you click the installer tab as it would error out on a missing file regularly. After that it should refresh the installers. You may need to move something to or from the Bash Installers folder to force the refresh.

Part of why I eventually quit using Mod Organizer.

Mod Organizer has definitely been one headache after another with modding Oblivion. I love it for Skyrim and never had these types of problems with it. I had hoped to force it to work, but I'm not so certain it's worth the effort.

I have even tried modifying the bash.ini to force it to search Mod Organizer\mods folder as the mods directory, but it made no difference.

Are you familiar with Anatriax's guides for Morroblivion? Her original guide used Mod Organizer and I was able to get up and running with it. I didn't drop Mod Organizer until I started adding things and ran into weird errors that I couldn't figure out the source of due to the odd compatibility issue that Mod Organizer can introduce. The original version is on Loverslab and NSFWMods has the rewrite that she took a perma-break on.

They might help you get an idea of what issues you won't be able to overcome.

skeletonWerewolf.nif is packed in the bsa with the Werewolf Special animations. To implement werewolf mode I used the Curse of Hircine resurrected resources. (skeleton + anim, the body and head was already present) I don't understand why WB complain about the missing file. It is supposed to be not present as loose file. MAybe a leftover from another package?

The file probably wasn't missing. Mod Organizer tends to have bizarre issues with Wrye Bash at times.
