The NPC faces mod's recours files are corupt

Submitted by General_Durandal on

I found the Morroblivion Remade Npcs ESPs.7z for Morroblivion.

It has two files separate from it,

Morroblivion NPCs Remade Ressources.7z.001

Morroblivion NPCs Remade Ressources.7z.002

but, the .001 and .002 makes them very hard to work with.

If I turn them into a zip file, when I open them it says it's corrupted, and there is nothing in the file.

I also opened the .001 file with WinRAR and it also said it was corrupted and held nothing inside.

Is there a working one, or a way to fix them?

I don't really want to play this if no-one looks like them'selves.

Try HJSplit.

Do not use winrar for 7zip files. Use the official 7zip program, that is also open source. Also the .001 and .002 extensions reveal that these are split archives. Opening/extracting the -001 file generally take the .002 file into account automatically, wih 7zip. Depending on the 7zip version used to create the file you may have to use a 9.x version of 7zip instead of the latest 16.x

Thank you, that worked!

I've installed the npc replacer,

but now the eyes are like two eyes, very weird looking,

and Jiub is missing textures on his face, and his voice is gone.

How do I fix these problems?

Mod load order http://sta.sh/0d1wtkksbly

Missing Face Textures http://sta.sh/0uwkdx58n3p

That's Jiub behind me.

All I installed is the stuff Morroblivion's installation page says to install,

plus the faces mod.

I assume you are referring to the mod from this page: https://tesrenewal.com/forums/morroblivion/mods/2042.  Unfortunately, this mod was last updated in 2011 and contains old subrecords which will override all the changes made since 2011 that are in Morroblivion v064.  In order to make it work, you will need to use Wrye Bash to make a bashed patch which will import the NPC faces and Racial mesh/texture changes and preserve the AI, voice, inventory, stat changes contained in Morroblivion v064.  I still need to do more testing but will try to post a tutorial on how to make a bashed patch in the near future.

UPDATE:
Regarding the wierd eyes and missing face textures, you need to unarchive and install the resource files from the "Morroblivion NPCs Remade Resources.7z" file AND also unarchive and install the resource files within the "Beautiful_People_v2dot7-5175.7z" file which is found within the above archive.  Both need to go within the Oblivion\Data directory, preserving the appropriate subdirectory tree structure.  In other words, if you finish installing and end up with files in an "Oblivion\Data\Data\..." directory, you did it wrong and will need to copy all those files out to "Oblivion\Data\...".  If all that works, you should end up with a Jiub that looks like this:

The reason jiub's face was black was because some of the stuff didn't get extracted the first time.

The reason the eyes where messed up was becouse the vanilla bsa files where dates 2016, making them newer then the mod, therefor not getting replaced.

I used a thing to set the vanilla and dlc bsa files to an older date, and now everything is working.

Except jiub has voice, which is probably caused by the faces part of morroblivion being older then the latest update.

I apologize if I was unclear with my explanations and suggestions in my previous reply, but I'm glad to see that you at least got some of it working.  I haven't had time to make a Wrye Bash tutorial for creating a bashed patch yet, however, here is a patch file which you can load after the "Morroblivion Better NPCs.esp" as a workaround.  You will still need to use a bashed patch if want this to be compatible with other mods or if you want it to be compatible with a future version of Morroblivion.

I also saw your posts inquiring about an update to this mod -- unfortunately, Crony (the mod's author) appears to be inactive (last seen 4 years and 11 months ago).  So I think it may be unlikely for the mod to be updated.  With that said, there are a few elements which I may incorporate into my own mod in the future.
