Dwemer puzzlebox quest | Morroblivion

Hi I am having a slight problem. I managed to find the dwemer puzzlebox for part of the main quest for the guy in the fighters guild but when I try to give it to him the option dosent work and he just keeps telling me where to find it when I already have it. Is there a way I can fix this problem and give him the puzzlebox.

Stage Not Updating

This has happened before to someone else. I do not know how. The Quest is supposed to update when you pick up the box. If it doesn't, then you won't be able to continue. If you would, please, go back to a previous save and try to recreate the error. Tell me exactly what you do. Hopefully you can recreate picking it up without the quest updating because it worked the second time around for the last person. Without being able to reconstruct the error it makes it much more difficult to track down. Failing that, you can use the console to enter: SetStage fmbwMQ02 7 This will let you proceed.
