I havent played morrowind before, so im wondering if there's any reason i should play the original game first, before playing morroblivion?
What all the fuss is about in
What all the fuss is about in the original, eh :D Okay then maybe i'll try the original version first.
Though, i can't play the original version halfway and then continue on morroblivion with my same character and progress, can i? o.o
No, you can't
No, you can't
Haha yea persevere with it
Haha yea persevere with it because you might get bored at first. If you can't get into it however you can still have a great time with Morroblivion anyway so either way you get to play through the great storyline.
Well, i suppose i'll be able
Well, i suppose i'll be able to make my mind up pretty fast upon starting the original morrowind. I saw a video of someone attacking an orc in morrowind, the animations were, uh, dismal.
Other than that the graphics seem quite good though. For a 2003 game, at least.
Yea the graphics aren't too
Yea the graphics aren't too bad for its age, i do agree though that the combat is abysmal - it's usually the major factor as to why people stop playing morrowind.
I played a little bit of
I played a little bit of morrowind before discovering Morroblivion. With all the graphics mods, it looks pretty nice (better in some ways than Morroblivion due to things like fade distances), but that's about all I can say about it that's good. The luck-based attacking and spellcasting really got on my nerves.
Advantages Morrowind has over Morroblivion:
Spells don't have minimum skill requirements. Needing 50 for basic stuff like bound armor/weapons and water-walking is quite ridiculous. Ingredients are another area Morrowind is better at (because it has 100% collection, and the plant is removed entirely, like in Skyrim). Weapon enchantments recharge over time in Morrowind.

Mmmm, well you do get a good
Mmmm, well you do get a good sense of the improvements the Oblivion engine makes - however if you've never played Morrowind before it is very hard to get into it now because of it's age (it can put a lot of people off). It depends on personal opinion, Morrowind is my all-time favourite Elder Scrolls Game so i can sing it's praises till the cows come home, but then again i'm biased. Let me put it this way, if you really like Oblivion, then stick with Morroblivion but if you do want to see what all the fuss is about in the original, play Morrowind - besides with Morrowind Enhanced etc. the graphics can be as good, if not better than Oblivion anyway.
