Is Morroblivion legal? I remember a while back bethesda banned it and you arent allowed any sort of mentioning of it on the TES nexus . so is it still banned or is the way about which you guys are creating the mod legal?

As I understand it, it is perfectly legal if you own both games and the expansion packs, that is: 1) Morrowind + Bloodmoon + Tribunal OR Morrowind Game of the Year Edition 2) Oblivion + Shivering Isles OR Oblivion Game of the Year Edition You can buy both GOTY editions on amazon for a total cost of $20-30, so there's no reason not to own them (especially since they are so great in the first place). However, Bethesda apparently had an agreement with a company that made Morrowind that stipulated that the textures in Morrowind could only be used for ONE game, so if it appeared in any way that Bethesda was endorsing the Morroblivion project (which they do not) by allowing it on their forums, partner sites etc., they could be theoretically be sued for breach of contract. The ultimate goal for us would be to have a finished release of Morroblivion that does not use any Morrowind textures; in which case, we are theoretically in the clear to post it on Bethesda-related sites. Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer and I am in no way giving you legal advice.

This whole project is banned. Accoding to Bethesda, you may not use resources from one game in any other game, even if you own legitimate copies of both games. It is my understanding that Bethesda subcontracted many of the Textures in Morrowind, with license to use them in ONE game. If we start using them in Two games, then Bethesda becomes liable for breach of contract and could be sued.
