[RELZ] Animated Siltstrider
i guess its time to release this one, it has been on my harddrive for a month now :P just replace the old siltstrider with this one, the old one was an activator but i have made this a creature that doesnt move and cant be killed. also remember to raise the siltstrider slightly above ground, or else it will not stay in its location!! download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?z795jcmyssd76kc settings(its important that these cs settings is followed):

I was just thinking about this...
I was just in Balmora looking across at the Silt Strider and was thinking "I wonder how Eloth is coming on this..." :)

Just curious ... but is
Just curious ... but is there a special reason you have made this a creature rather than an activator?

Hmmm ... you generally need to use these settings for animated objects: Especially note the "Nif w/ Manager" option. You also need to use the Civ4 Animation utility as with creatures and assign the sequence name as "Idle" with loop enabled. ---------------- Another way is to merge the parts in nifscope. Export one single Nif w\o animation {uncheck both flatened Heirachy and Skeleton Only} and one normal KF {as a usual creature type Idle animation} ... then attach the animation to the mesh using nifscope {Spells-> Animation->Attach KF} and save the file. -------------- Otherwise a creature is also alright ....

Issues with Silt Strider
I have put a test silt strider into the game. It has texture issues, or more probably, normal map issues. When the sunlight falls on its legs and part of its arms they shine pure white. Before I got to this point, I had other issues. I get an error message that TXUsiltstriderUskinU00.dds is corrupted and cannot be unpacked. The mesh uses a lot of Morrowind .tga files. I went through and redirected the mesh to the proper Oblivion .dds files. So the animation looks nice, but the glowing whiteness will need to be fixed before this can be put into the Morrowind_ob.esp Project file.

Drift
Upon more extended observation, my Silt Strider also drifts. Over several days of gametime, it drifted 10 meters from where it was supposed to be. On broader implementation, I think I need to try giving each of the Silt Striders unique AI packages telling them to stand on custom X-Marker headings by the Silt Strider Ramps. I will download the new file to see if it fixes the glowing problem.
