Skywind SFX Hub 2

Use of Wilhelm Scream = guaranteed place on the team.

Hey guys,

We've created a YouTube channel for the SFX, we will be uploading examples of implemented work and such, so you can see what it is we're doing.

First video featuring the Seyda Neen region can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWmv2QQEUIg&feature=youtu.be

I have great studio equipment and a good daw and monitors. I record music but I can try my hand at Sfx. Free a lot of the time and willing to collaborate.

Can you PM me with a reel, or example of previous sound effects work?

I've recently been corresponding with the VO department (Langotriel to be exact) on doing the VO for scamps. Once we determined, apparently, that I'll be doing the VO for Lustidrike and Creeper (since they are the two talking scamps in the game), it was mentioned that I'd need to work with the SFX department for the different sounds the scamps make, whether they be talkers or generic ones.

That said, I figured I'd post here to ask if you guys had any suggestions or specified list of sounds I would need to make, or if it's free range? I assume things like idling sounds and noises made while taking damage and fighting are quite necessary - but I'm willing to do anything you guys are looking for.

Additionally, I'd be willing to do other creature sounds and things like that. Maybe even some NPC SFX if necessary. Just point me in the right direction! :)

Hey guys. I'm a composer and sound designer with a fair amount of experience in the field (I've been lucky enough to work professionally). I'm currently on a 1 year contract right now but I do have some downtime here and there and would be happy to lend my hand to this project wherever I can.

I'm a huge fan of Morrowind, so very excited for what you're all doing. You can find my sound design showreel here:

Along with a free sample pack download (as another example of my sound design, but isolated):

Is there a sound-list of what needs to be done? Or is that granted when you are on the team, so to say?

Hey, I`ve already posted in the Music and Sound Forum, and got redirected to here.

I`m an audio engineering student and have decent equipment, i have winter vacations form the 16th of December to the 10th of January. I have a lot of time during this period, after that university starts again but i`ll still find time to continue collaboration.

hello,

i have a idea for sound. i imagine hearing sounds from inside the buildings when you are outside. example: when i stand outside near a hut, or window or building in general, it would be nice if you can hear speaking voices, cooking sound, sweeping sound, baby crys, animals, snoozing , washing, sawing and all other kinds of sounds you can imagine ( not on every window but sometimes). also, it would be nice, if the sound orientating to the time it is. for example: sleeping sound in the night, or rumbling sounds from a thief knocking over stuff in the dark. the sound should be muffled or so.

i made a video example, how it could sound and feels like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WlvHOi3JJw&feature=youtu.be

Hello! I am Mike Vogler, a sound designer for the popular web-series, Manufactured Alliances; the creator of the Youtube channel, DiscoverME, which is known for basic sound design tutorials; and the lead SFX Designer for the award-winning Sins of a Solar Empire mod, Dawn of the Reapers. I heard about your project some time ago, but after building up a more sizable portfolio I wanted to see if I could help you guys with anything.

I am also quite available and am able to balance sound design well with my other obligations. I can be contacted on Skype at any time.

Here are my Soundclouds for both SFX and music. I would love to help you guys out.

Hello, I am a 16 year old high school student with zero experience in sound design, so I will be unable to present a reel. As a matter of fact, I have never even played Morrowind- My first ES game was Oblivion, but the only ES game I really went in depth with (bought it at release, guessing around 400 hours in game) was Skyrim.

However, what I do have is loads of time that I am willing to dedicate to the project, a drive to do the best that I can do, and the ability to learn new skills quickly and effectively, if anyone is willing to teach me the basics.

I realise that isn't much of a pitch, but I am eager to help out with the project in any way that I can.

Hi I'm very interested in getting involved in this project if there is work available? I have a few years experience doing sound design for film and animation and am keen to start using my skills in computer games, please see my portfolio here - https://vimeo.com/channels/524082

I can dedicate a day or so a week to it at the moment and can start straight away.

Just a friendly reminder that the best way to get involved with skywind is to PM the lead of the department you're interested in directly (as it will forward a notification to their email). JPNeufeld and Jaegrover in this case. https://tesrenewal.com/forums/general-development/hub-volunteer-join-the-project

Hello everyone! I'm very interested in helping out on the project, so I'll follow up this post with a PM as taerkalith suggested. In the meantime, I'd like to receive some critique on some creature sounds I decided to put together as a "demo". Specifically, I've been working on a re-imagining of the infamous cliff racer. I'm happy to incorporate any notes or rework the sounds based on animation, so please let me know. Thank you!

Hi, just letting you guys know I had a talk with one of the head developers (the one with the Yoda icon, can't find the chat messages) three months ago about doing some SFX like the boat and ambiences. He said i'd have about six months but i thought i'd stop by to say that I will start working on this in about a week or two. Also I was wondering with whom I could keep in touch about this.

JPNeufeld, Jaegrover are the SFX leads. I'd Contact Them

Hey guys! I've reached out to some people individually, but if for whatever reason I've missed anyone, please send me a PM and I'll get you up and running. Thanks so much for the interest!

Awesome! :D This is looking exciting.

I've sent out emails to interested parties. If I missed anyone, PLEASE don't hesitate to poke me here or on skype. Looking forward to working with you!

Hello! I found this project through a YouTube video and I must say that I am truly amazed by what you have accomplished thus far. I always hoped something like this would be made and here we are today!

My name is Oskar Drakensvärd and I'm a 21 year old guy from Sweden. I've worked with sound/graphics design for just over 5 years now and I studied sound engineering for 3 years.

I have my own studio and I make sound effects for smaller flash games and videos. I haven't worked on any huge projects but I love what I'm doing and I really wish to be a part of something like this.

I would more than gladly be a part of this project and I want to do whatever I can to see this become a huge hit with lots of love and passion put into it!

Contact me if there is any interest in taking in someone like myself!

Greetings from Oskar!

Hello,

My name is Jesse Jaeger and I am looking to volunteer as a member of your SFX Team. I am a recent high school grad looking for something to keep me busy. My passion is anything with the words audio or sound in it, especially when it comes to sound effects. For the past four years I have been doing the sound design for the drama department at my school, which involved not only doing the live mixing of shows, but the creation and modification of sound files to match the feel of the show. And when I'm not doing a show, I'm at home playing videogames as it is one of my favorite pastimes. So I guess what I'm trying to say is I have a lot of experience in this field and would love to apply it to my favorite hobby and get the best of both worlds. If you are interested in making me a part of your team feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to provide more info. Anyway, thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!

Best to contact Jaegrover or JP to find out what sounds still need doinged and how to jump in.

I own Falcon Sound Company.  We have produced multiple iphone games, apps, etc... We are huge fans, btw (I believe my wife/co-owner is doing several Dark Elf voice overs...).  Anyways, I've attached a word doc with links to my dropbox sounds portfolio as well as a link to a cartoon we recently produced (apparently this system seems to think that putting links in the comments means spam...) That should give you a general idea of what we're capable of.  Thanks for your time, and I can't wait for the game!!!

You shouldn't set off the spam alarms anymore, now.

Cool cool.  And sorry about the weird font for my comment... I got tired of trying to submit my comment and getting blocked, so I copied it into Word, then pasted it back in when I figured it out.  My bad.

Hey there! Sent you a PM! Thanks for expressing interest!

Hi guys,

I'm very interested in this project!
I've done a bit of film and TV before, but this would be my first foray into game (although I do understand the basic principles of the applications of sound in game engines, middleware etc.)

Check out my portfolio at www.seanfwilson.co.uk

I'd love to be involved in this!

Also, my wife is an actress who's willing to help with dubs.

All the best!

That's some good stuff, Sean! I'd love to hear what you could come up with for ambience.

Sean, contact JPneufeld on the volunteer page and if you don't hear anything within a week, repost and we'll make sure you get involved!

hi there. i'm interested in helping out with this sort of job. i am currently a student studying music technology and have a lot of time on my hands. i am a huge fanboy of the elderscrolls games and really excited about this project so i hope i can help out if i can.

Hello, I've been working with many DAWs for around five years, and now I'm in university for film, learning and applying myself to working with folly and sound design. Up to this point I've been writing music electronically so I know my way around audio no problem. I don't have much of a reel at this point, but I've been dying for an opportunity like this. TES is by far my favorite franchise, and to be able to contribute, would be absolutely amazing. Please Consider

If you can both use the volunteer form on the left hand side of the screen we will reply to you guys there. Otherwise a good chance you will not be replied to as it is a necessity to keep things easy to track with multiple volunteers applying every day

Sent in a form and posted through the usual means, just thought i'd drop a message in here too :)

Hoping to start helping out with the SFX team, i've got a fairly good setup going in terms of recording abilities and have always wanted to get the chance to work on sound for video games :) examples of my work have been posted in the application i've filled out but i'm happy to send them again on request.

Hey, I've been working with DAWs for about 6 years now, and as a Uni student I have a lot of time usually! Ranging from 5-15 hours a week (5 over the next 3-4 weeks due to exams).

Here's my SFX reel (as a YouTube playlist).

Been working for audio for videogames for the past 3 years now, and been doing music for longer. Hope I can be of help, and it'll be great to work with you guys! :)

Hypnago, you did all the foley in that AC video?!  That's really good stuff!  Color me impressed.

Alex, your video was really fun to watch with my speakers turned way up!  I wish I knew how to create cool sounds like that.

Hey there,

I'm an amateur sound designer/game dev working toward a career in the industry. I'd love to be a part of this project. I put together a demo reel highlighting some of my recent work: https://youtu.be/0WglGa_UcKc

Hello all,

I'm a freelance Sound Designer who currently pays the bills by working as a full-time Senior QA Analyst at a small studio who develops very large and highly anticipated AAA titles (notably the most renown and highly acclaimed remasters throughout the past ~8 years).

As a huge fan of TES and someone who has always wished to be able to return to Morrowind without shuttering at the aged content, I've been excited about this project. I'm currently working to expand my portfolio in my free time, and figured that this would be the best opportunity for me to offer my services and help bring this dream to life (hopefully before TES6!)

Outside of work I'm currently only assisting with one other project which is rolling along pretty slowly, so I should be available to designate my time to dive in and churn out some high quality assets fairly quickly!

For more info about myself, my qualifications, experience, and current portfolio material, please check out my website: www.phayzraudio.com

Hi Guys, I see there is a trend of people posting in this hub for SFX, but you guys should use the volunteer form system (left hand side -> "volunteer").
