All the models in this thread need to be redone for legal and esthetic purposes before we will do a release . If you feel like you can contribute by doing some or all of these models then please leave a comment at the bottom of this thread.
Let us know what 3d modeling program and also what year it is you use, as we need to find out if we need to convert the files for you or get you setup with appropriate importers.

I can claim these if someone can sends me the files in obj format.
Please use only 1 or 2 texture for the bark, tiling ones.

for the tops, paint some sharp burnt bark shards with an alpha.
ask us for new textures if u need em
some extra concepts:
Here are the objs. Most important thing oreoorbitz is to keep us updated and to actually upload the models as you finish them.

Well right now I am rescaling the models, since I started before I got the obj.
I have two questions.
How close does my remake have to be to the orignal? I understand that the goal is to avoid cliping and floating geo.
How close does my polycount have to be to the orignal? I read somewhere the 150% increase is acceptable.
The trees not so much, but the logs are lying on the ground so really need to be close, otherwise yes clipping.
Correct, always depends on what the models are, but anything between 50%-200% seems fine.
Ok so four trees remaining, I decided to double the polycount for my remakes. Hopefully you like them.
I'll upload the obj tommrow.
That was quick! Maybe you want to look at Bitter Coast trees next? http://tesrenewal.com/forums/environmental-models-that-need-...
Talk to me and Ravanna about concepts in general, if you're keen.
As far as trees go, the more variety the better, there is not really any restriction.
Ok, so this is what I have so far, they aren't done, obviously, and there are some scaling issues, but just incase I go out for a walk one morning and never come back, you have these to remember me by.
Happy just to tell ya I did model most of these but there not uved. well most of them aren't but some of the one's that are are not vary well uved.
ore these models have no uvs, textures, or vertex colouring, or layering. We cant use these. If you can UV and learn new things, ask one of us how to accomplish these meshes.
Are you talking about my models Rav?

I must of misunderstood happy when he said upload them as you finish, didn't know he meant completley finished.
Anyway, done with the model of the last two trees, kind of went crazy with these, but, they're the same height and have the same base so I hope its OK.
If there are no objections I'm going to uv these suckers and start thinking about textures.
Anyone have suggestions on the texture, should I make it dark and scaly like the original?
Ok, so I showed the models to squaly, he seemed to like them. So I'm going to consider them done!
As for the textures, I think its better for someone who can preview the assets ingame to do the texture. I've made a texture to preview the models in marmoset but I don't know how it will look ingame. I'll put the texture and its spec/normal map in the upload anway.
here's the file, in mediafire, cus I like seeing the progress of the upload .
