Need ideas for small objects and statues that could be used to clutter Areas

Submitted by Drakonman on

I need ideas for small objects and statues that could be used to clutter Areas. Just random little knickknacks, stones, objects

maybe a skull impaled on a pike. things like that to liven areas up.

I'm learning how to use Zbrush so if i can get a bunch of Ideas i can start pumping out small things we can use.

Cairns.  Should make several of them in different height and formation. Could be used along roads paths. We also need dice and maybe a 200 or 300 denomination for stacked coin.  Art supplies like easel paints brushes and more paintings and drawings.  More unfolded blankets and towels?  Beehives. More signs.  A whole set of new farm models so we can have convincing fields (ground cover, mulch piles, rows and small piles of dirt, swales and berms etc). I can think up more stuff later but I don't think there is a shortage of ideas.

okay, this is only half an idea, but maybe curiosities from different regions. Skyrim is set 200 years after Oblivion, and dragons had been gone for 1000 years by then. By my random guestimation I recon in Morrowind the dragons were gone about 600ish years.

So maybe there are still dragon bone and scale nik-naks around, jewelry and the like, maybe a dragonbone letter opener? :-P

also, you could use existing meshes to make wooden to versions of existing animals?

what about a Moon Sugar Hookar? Is that lore friendly?

umm, maybe a sand mask for jik?

What clutter is around you house?

Think of the clutter you collect for the Tribunal quest. Also, look at the Skyrim clutter. Pans, other cookware, pots, bones, antler type bones, broken weapons and armor, yarn and lettuce (they should always be found together). Crumpled paper, stacks of misc paperwork, small statues or figurines.

In-home shrines, cremation jars for those who can't afford their own ancestral tomb, ceremonial weapons on the walls for wealthy families, fishing poles in a corner, scattered pieces of paper near a quill, plants, small statues of the tribunal, jewlery chests, baskets of food, a dagger under the pillow, and of course disco balls. Lots of disco balls.

Hunting trophy,s /heads/stuffed animals/skulls, Cutlery, Weapons,

Also you can use Zbrush for these?

How? I thought Zbrushe was only use to do details on models made in a different program

There is a way to make game assets with only zbrush and an image editor, but someone else has to run it through 3dsmax to convert it from obj to nif. No big deal.

Sorry, I don't have any clutter ideas. Maybe small jars and vases or something.

Items that will be needed for Oblivion - shears, hourglass, scale and weights, crystal ball, calipers.

Yeah i know how to make it into a .Nif with its Collision Mesh.  The question is.. Where do I direct the textures? I mean it could be say  clutter/misc/fork.dds but for something more obscure like "texture/clutter/dungeon/misc/skull/skullpile.dds"

Or would it be "Dungeon/clutter/....." Or texture/Skywind/Dungeon/clutter"

the biggest issue i have is i really don't know where to direct anything. Is there a specific format or is everything just disorganized?

Ratwolf Hunting trophy,s /heads/stuffed animals/skulls, Cutlery, Weapons,       Also you can use Zbrush for these?   How? I thought Zbrushe was only use to do details on models made in a different program

It was heavily decimated to run on an older Engine.

I also made this in just Zbrush

The textures can be projected right onto the model and mixed with other textures. You're essentially making a whole new one.

Could you make some large dice in that texture with carved out and stained digits?

Curtains and drapes with the certain rings, ropesand support bars. Table cloths scissors, a ruler. You should organise your work like this. Look up or think of different jobs and occupations in skyrim, make everything that occupation would require for the job ( a gardener would have a shovel rake, hoe, other tools etc.) And separate the files by jobs so when someone is creating a level they can put things where they should be. Here are a few occupations I can think of . Astronomer ( telescope, compass star chart etc) Potter ( kiln, clay wheel, small clay knives) Carpenter( saws, hammer nails) Statue sculptor/stonemason( chisel, masons hammer, scaffolding) Botanist ( small glass vials, large jar with plant in it, scalpal, tweezers,) Writer ( crumpled papers, quill, parchment, book bindings, waste basket, old style printing equipment) Librarian ( reading spectacles, magnifying glass, rolling ladder- for bookshelves, book spacers, book shelves)
