SCRIPTERS: READ HERE

Submitted by pipie123 on

Hello guys,

Do you remember in Skyrim how you'd be walking along and suddenly a guard would say, "Stay out of trouble, elf". Then you'd think "(blushes) Senpai noticed me!". Well this is called race-specific dialogue, and if you guys could work out how to do this it would be great. The writers will cover everything that needs to be said, but you guys should (if you don't already know) learn how to set it so that certain lines are only said to certain races. I hope this isn't too much of an ask?

Thanks,

PiPie

I am no scripter or anything but I surely roam the CK a lot. That said, what you asked is pretty simple actually and doesn't require any scripts (at least, not any from our side; it's all scripted inside the Ck already).

You open the dialogue window with all its trees and flowers (such pun!) and when you write dialogues that are triggered by (nanananaa) EVENTS you set certain conditions to be met. The one you are asking for should be something like:
isRaceElf === 1.00 (or similia); as the event is found to be true, the guard will say the dialogue line because all conditions are met. It's a thing for dialoguers, not scripters.

Hmm scriptures should contact digitalparanoid if there looking to help out with quests. If people want to work on game mechanics then contact me Smerk or Eham (I think Eham is gone for a while so you should contact me first or your request might not get heeded). We really need scriptures so if theres anyone willing to help with papyrus skill then please contact us or if you have C++ skill then please contact me or Eham. We can use some C++ people. :)

Also here's the thread for the game mechanics.
