Skyrim Remastered

Submitted by MythicProjectz on

Ok, so I have seen some talk before, during and a little after the announcement of Skyrim remastered (Skyrim Special Edition) regarding SKYWIND. But now Skyrim Special Edition has been released and to my knowledge, haven't heard anything on the future of the project. Is the SKYWIND project gonna be transferring to the Skyrim Special Edition which is now 64-bit or are you guys holding your ground and staying with the original Skyrim?

Also, if there has been talk about it, it would be appreciated to show me where. Thanks!!!

Yes, I do believe Skywind is headed for SSE (they announced their intent some time after SSE was announced at E3). However, I'm sure they'll be working on Skywind on x32 for a while until the modding scene fills out a bit more; specifically until SkyUI, SKSESE, PapyrusUtil, and a few other necessities are up to date.

It sure looks purdy and our Landscapers and Coders have begun looking into the added functionality. It all hangs on SKSE and SKYUI however, as we will need functional versions of both to work in SSE

Unfortunately The developer of SkyUI isn't going to create a patch for SkyUI for SSE.

Where did you read that?

Not entirely true.  If all he has to do is update the .esp, recompile and then upload the mod then he'll do that.  Basically as long as he has the bare minimum amount of work to do then he'll do so.  Anything more than the bare minimum?  Then somebody else needs to do that work.

There is no doubt in my mind that SkyUI will be ported over. Someone just needs to run the ESP through the CK to update as necessary and rework the SKSE plugin for SKSESE when it comes about. The original authors have given permission to port it over.

I'd give it a week or two, depending on when the new CK is released and when SKSESE is put up. Someone has already begun working on a bare-bones port of SkyUI called "Another Sorting Mod."

Edit: Actually, looking at "Another Sorting Mod" now, it has little to do with SkyUI. The author is just grabbing endorsements with the images.

Edit 2: It's a trap! I brought it up and got blocked by the author lol

the addition of some of S:SE's models and godrays would greatly increase the longevity of skywind, and by extension morrowind.
