Some questions about current Skywind design choices.

Submitted by Glampkoo on

1 - How exactly will the perk system work? Will the perks be directly tied to your skill's level, so when you get to level X you get the perk Y? I hope it will not be like Skyrim's perk system (Which I hate furiously).

2 - Can you make armor from the faction you are in? Will you have to speak to the faction's smith in order to make their armour and weapons?

3 - Will you be able to learn unique enchantments or crafting schematics from certain quests? (please, please, please, please...)

4 - Can you make ridiculously OP weapons for a big price? (Which I hope is not money)

5 - Can you make your own spells? Will spells like Levitate work properly in Skyrim's Engine?

6 - Will be there the contents of Morrowind's Expansions?

7 - Will there be classes (and custom classes) that give you more skill like in Morrowind and Oblivion?

8 - Will there be custom book covers like Book Covers Mod? I hate the poor variety of Skyrim's books.

9 - I love you?

I can answer question 6 as a yes, as I was just working on idle conversations for expansion NPC's. As for the other things, one of the developers/coders will have to answer your questions, but as far as I know, the perk system is being overhauled, but not sure on the specifics. The game is still in early Alpha stage so there is still a lot of things that need to be decided on.

You should try posting your questions in the Skywind FAQ.

@glampkoo

1. Perk system has not been implemented yet but has had a lot of planning go into it so far. We have a couple potential people that may start putting serious time into it. Too early to talk about this feature yet but our proposed system is indeed an overhaul to seem more natural than what skyrim offered. more info as we go.

2 - Factional armour along house lines is being designed and will be implemented. Smiths will be more or less like skyrim's smith in terms of inventory but we will probably tweak it to make them more localized.

3 - Unique spells/enchantments are not a focus but if an existing quest offers it as a reward it'll be there. Magic is being actively worked on so we'll have to see how it ends up.

4 - Morrowind natively has OP weapons with big price tags, stumble into them, or play a lot and you'll find 'em

5 - a version of levitate is in-game and working, may be tweaked for combat balance in the future, but yes it works. Custom spellmaking is unlikely due to engine issues, but we may be able to provide a variety of strengths once the basic spell mechanics are ALL nailed down.

6 - Morrowind's expansions will be finished up once the main game has had the love and attention it needs.

7 - Currently no plan for the class system. I don't think this is high on our list of things to re-introduce so don't expect it.

8 - There has been talk about book covers. A couple of keen individuals, but that was awhile ago, can't really speak to this as I've heard conflicting information.

9 - Skywind-factfinderbot does not accept questionable love for payment.

Thanks for replying. Also what is the department that needs more help/people or is the slowest at progressing?
