Welcome to the Skywind Installer.
You will see on the right hand side that we have attempted to detect your installations of Skyrim, as well as Morrowind GOTY (or Morrowind plus the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions). The reason for requiring the Morrowind game is for intellectual property reasons. No files are used or copied from the Morrowind game.
If they have not found them on your C drive them please use the Change button to find the folders on your computer.
Once it has been confirmed that you meet the requirements for installing Skywind please press the Install or Update button. There is a small wizard that allows you to specify which Skyrim game folder you want to install Skywind, and also where the data files for installing or updating content are. Usually these files are bundled with the installer, and by default it will look in the folder "Data Files" in the root folder of the Skywind Installation. But as further release updates happen, your downloaded Skywind data files can be selected from anywhere on your hard drive.
Once you are ready with your selected paths, the Next button will show you the various files, folders or archives (zip/rar/7z) that can be installed to your Skyrim folder. The Skywind.cmf is the master file which holds the Skywind world. It is encrypted, but will be decrypted once selected and installed.
You can choose which files you want to install by checking the box next to each item.
Usually by default you will select the three main files that are used to load Skywind; Skywind.cmf, Skywind.bsa and Skywind - Patch.esp, as well as any other files that will potentially copy content like mods, graphics and sound.
When you are ready click the Next button to install what you have selected. Wait for the files to be copied then you are finished.
Please note that this installer has no graphics and sound. If you haven't done so already, you need to download the Complete Skywind Installation Pack, and extract directly to your Skyrim folder. All files should be placed in the same directory structure as the downloaded file.
You are now ready to play Skywind!
Please make sure that the Skywind master plugin and patch file are selected in your Data File Options list. This can be done by loading up the SkyrimLauncher.exe and going to the Data Files menu and then look down the list until you find Skywind.esm and Skywind - Patch.esp. Select both these and now start the game as you normally do.
If you want to start with a new character then you will be given the option of starting in Morrowind or Skyrim, with character generation and the beginning of the main quest.
There are currently no in game features to move you into the world of Morrowind if you want to use your existing Skyrim character, you will need to use the command console to load up this world. This can be done by pressing the tilde key on your keyboard in game. This is the ~ key usually up on the top left of your keyboard. Then type in COW WRLDMORROWIND -4,-18 which will transport you to a town called Seyda Neen.
That’s it! Have fun.
