Skywind CLOTHING Template System

Submitted by Ravanna on

we're still in the process of working out how to do this faster in nifskope on alex's side, but the main system works.
*create fanfair and throwing of ladies underwear*
Both NPCs and Players can wear ths clothing system.
its a bit complex and I wont explain it all now, but basically we're using morph targets, poly edits, and seperate segments of clothing, along with texture templates, to create virtually EVERY single type of clothing needed for the the game.

Some specific robes can be standalone, but this system should do the tick other wise.

I will create an illustration that lists every single possible morph/layer/mesh type later, with input from u guys what we need.

Show off- "basically we're using morph targets, ploy edits, who the hell understands a word, not me said the wolf, along with texture templates"

Good work my men, if Alex needs minions to do NifSkope changes then write a quick tutorial and can spread the work.

Didn't understand anything, but I'm guessing it is some sort of automated clothing creator? That's awesome, never thought it can be done.

With some more interesting textures, this will be really cool.

Some of the shirts in morrowind had layers of cloth on them rather than just being one piece. Is this capable of doing that? Or are those designs gonna be changed/left out? I ask this simply out of curiosity. Whatever you guys do with this is fine for me.

The system itself looks great but the template model needs more polys.

What can we do to help you with this? Not that I understand how it works or what it even does, but if possible I like to help out where I can.

Since everything is going to be divided up into the original Morrowind clothing/armor system, how will armor mods be affected, and will Skyrim mods even work with Skywind?

New improved system,
Will talk when I have more time.
Here's 50% of the work done for trousers

I feel like we've grown apart, that you never listen to us anymore. Is it something that we did?

On a more serious note what is the patent on this? RavannaFashion TM

When you say morph targets and poly edits, what does that mean? Like a poly edit in 3ds max is just a way to manipulate something. In my mod common clothes i did something to try to prevent clipping on some clothes. there was another separate sleeve mesh under the normal one and when you equip gauntlets i used the bsdismemberment to make the outersleeve dissapear and the inner sleeve was shaped to fit under the gauntlets. Is this something similar where the mesh can be different depending on what you wear with it?

how did u overcome zbuffer/clipping of the sleeve meshes themselves, or were they much thinner in the gauntlet version?

morph target is the same mesh but with vertices moved around.
its how the armour goes from 0 to 1 sizes in skyrim.

Its more complex than that, but i MAY have to make a video tutorial so someone else can take my work and get it making all the clothes ingame.

My gut feeling is that you should spend the time to do a tutorial. Even if it takes you a whole day, its better to let others do the rest of the work, we can use your skills on artistic stuff rather than step by step stuff.

Also you might squeeze in some video footage that could be used for development video?

Ravanna, we want video about it!! :)

Just curious, was this completed?
