Hello once again everyone! As the title suggests, I am planning on starting the next official development video in the next few weeks. Many were disappointed with not being shown in the last one, so as promised another is on the way. While it is still far away from being done, I want to remind everyone to START GETTING FOOTAGE NOW. With the recent update, I'm sure everyone will have plenty to show off, so PLEASE start compiling a list of footage you want to used to give me an idea on what to show case this time around. A few things off the top of my head are
- New Landscapes
- Custom creature animations
- Crafting System demonstration
- Original music (timelapses)
- Clothing system WIP
- In-game book art
Leave a post below and start gathing any pictures, footage, and narration scripts that you can, along with any suggestions and requests.

Can... can we see a way from Seyda to Balmora on foot? Or some part of it with new music?
I have some original music here if you want to use it.
How about the in-game book art being drawn? And can we show off the ashlands yet?
About the footage, is it being narrated by Daniel Hodge again, or are we recording voices individually?
Seyda Neen to Balmora in some sort of "guided tour" sounds like a pretty awesome idea actually. With some cuts inbetween to show off 3D, anims, artwork, whatever.
I'm hoping Daniel is up to it once again, people liked it a lot last time and added A LOT of professionalism.
If you do the tour thing, make sure you go the Ascadian Isles way because when you first go out of Seyda Neen and into that Ash bit it looks like crap.
Mb we create one video about history of our project?)

Yeah, I like Iniquity's idea.
Hey Squally,
Any of the songs in the original post of the MUSIC Hub thread are at your disposal for the video. They are in different stages of composition but the songs who are on that first page have been selected due to their level of quality and how appropriate they are for different areas of Skywind. If you want to have footage of one of our composers writing a song, I'd encourage you to talk to Therion_Prime, Teslightreturn, Devin or anyone whose material is on that page.
Idea: For some of the more specific tracks like the Ghost Gate for example, it would be cool to showcase the in-game area with the appropriate music playing. Feel free to use any of it for background elements as well as we have quite a few good tracks already.
Hope this helps! Can't wait to see Dev video #2!

Most of this was kind of mentioned in the first video, and would have made more sense to start with. I want to just focus on the progress being made.
SquallyDaBeanz, in first video was nothing from this topics :)
For music, feel free to underline some of our goals such as keeping true to the iconic sound of Jeremy Soule's music while expanding the soundtrack to incorporate elements specific to certain areas of the game. We're really trying to bring something out of Skywind that wasn't all too present in Morrowind with regards to Dunmeri culture.
Squallydabeanz, it would be epic if you show already some stuff from the Hive, hive towers with bridge, lathla(cloudstrider) and holamayan development
My personal preference is to not show any of the hive stuff until its more fleshed out. I don't want to put it in there and get a hundred questions what its about. Better to wait until we have actually developed around it.
happychappy Yes you are right, many questions will be asked, lets wait
I am not sure if you can use this but you could use the production timelapse for my skywind track as a part of your development video ;)

Hey Bausic, long time no see ;)
Great stuff, Bausic :)
Just don't spring it on me this time alright squally It would be good to know when your doing the final render.

Obviously it won't, because once again, this post has been here awhile, so people have all this time to gather and submit footage.
Any rough estimate when you want to have the dev vid finished? (maybe I can make the promo art till then, wich in turn can be combined with the animated Skywind logo and all that fancy stuff.)

It's still a ways off, I will probably start on it next week, and have it done the week after, depending on how much footage I have by then. So you still have 2-4 weeks, hard to say at this point.
ah damn, I`m completely booked throughout February. Not sure if it will be done by then. Not even halfway done at the moment. :/
Ghostgate concept art ready http://morroblivion.com/forums/skyrim/skywind-development-fo...
Don't show anything of Azura's Coast yet. The merging was messed up and all the basalts are missing. It takes away the beauty of the region. :/
Hey, just a quick update. I'm looking for as much content as possible, I'll start this in about a week and hopefully have it done in 2. So far I only have one solid piece of material, and I'm looking for much more. Send in your work!
well, good thing that I will buy a new tablet tomorrow. Hopfeully the technological splendor will give me the fire to finish the Vivec concept art to everyones satisfaction. :)
I just got some new textures and new UVd rocks so I can upload the files or record footage myself, whatever you want.
A big part of Skywind is getting people who wouldn't otherwise give Morrowind a chance to experience the game, right? What if you had a bunch of shots that start out as clips from classic Morrowind, and then fade in to their Skywind counterparts? For example, a character entering Suran in classic Morrowind fades into a shot of a character entering Suran in Skywind. You could show the new landscapes and showcase the graphical improvements at the same time, might get more people on board.
Just a thought.
I personally wouldn't release another development video for at least a couple of months. The reason for high number of hits of the first one, was due to gaming websites running the articles and embedding the video. You just won't get the second run interest so close to the first video, and we could do with a lot more content anyway. Up to you, but I think it would be better marketing to build a gap and then interest again.

I agree with happy, waiting a couple months seems the best course of action.
yeah, that's true. In a couple of months Skywind could look completely different and probably will in a lot of cases (West Gash for example, will probably be finished).
Might be best to let some more progress get made on the project by all the new team members, and then release another dev video in a month or two showcasing how far the project has come due to the increase in volunteers. Might inspire more people to want to join the team!
Hey, I would love to contribute with my music. Check my channel, and see if you like what you hear. :)

Yup, I was actually thinking this exact thing. We want to keep people on their toes. That, and I have yet to get any content submissions, so for now, we'll just say this thread is closed and wait until a later date. Thanks everyone.
ALRIGHT EVERYONE. I think it's a good time to get this rolling. There has been tons of work done since the last vid, so I'm going to start compiling this. Every send in all their content they can and I will try to work it into the video. Check the first post for ideas and what I need.
From my part
Say two words about the Skywind Official Public Gallery <-
Ghostgate concept art
Ghostgate model development soon the model will be updated
From Jors and Siberian Crab Holamayan
It's time to start submitting stuff everyone. If you can't yet, please let me know when you can, what it is, and when you can get it to me by. Thanks.
I'll have some footage soon
I have some good music. It's royalty free music so I don't think you will have any problems with copyright. I picked them up from my production library so it's pretty random, but it's mostly epic music! :P

I thought we all agreed its too early for another video?

I think another two months would be alright, because currently the only really noticeable thing that's been done (coming from a viewer's POV not a dev's POV is landscape and creatures.

There was literally nothing mentioned about music in the last video, as well as a few topics Squally left out of the previous video with the intention of making a #2. This is less about covering progress and more about talking about the different things that weren't mentioned in the last vid. At least I'd think so.
The trouble with that is that people want to see things visually done, because most of them don't understand the technical side to what goes on when making new scripts, quests, etc. To them, a quest is a quest and that's it - the consumers will generally take things with their face-value only.
More videos of any (decent) kind will gain you more supporters. I'm sure there ARE new things to show. New concept art, new models, one or two new landscapes (or even the same one but shown from different angle). Just keep the hype high. Let people know the project is alive. Repeat in 2 months.
Which video where you watching? The dev video mentions Dragomir's music. I have no problem with him doing trailers but the dev videos are supposed to be about showing the larger progress and showing the things being done behind the scenes. If we over saturate with too many videos people won't watch them. It's better to wait a bit longer considering the things that are being worked on now and will be added. We don't want to release a dev video and then a week later have important things get done and don't get covered.
Oh, I'm gonna work off the assumption that someone game you the footage of an animation I did, don't use that. I have a better method of doing the animations now that produces better results faster and I would like footage of that to be used instead. That is unless we have another animator, that I don't know about... haven't been around much lately. Who has something better. I'll get something together in the next couple days, probably make a quick tutorial on how to do IK animation for skyrim in 3ds, or at least my technique.
