Feature overview request

Submitted by Some Chump on

Greetings, it has been a long time since I have been on this site.

Progress on the mod is looking awesome, although reading the forums it is hard to see where the game is heading. I was kinda hoping for an overview of what features you were adding to the game from the Skyrim game i.e tanning rack, what features won't make it to Skywind, due to engine limitations or simply the fact Skyrim does it better.

For example, how is alchemy going to implemented, Morrowind style portable kit, Skyrim type benches or a combination? And same for enchanting, spell creation, weapon damage and repair.

Are dungeons makers getting creative freedom on their work to add things like traps, or change the layout for a better experience, or will they stick to the bland original, same in towns with adding markets and such.

Same question with quest writers, will quests be improved upon with scripted events or slightly changed if required to make a better experience, be radiant to keep old players guessing where they will be going next. Are those encounters you got in the wild going to be static or radiant, such as the naked barbarians etc.

Are generic NPC's going to be added, like hunters, mercenaries, extra people to flesh the world out.

Is all the magic coming back? lock spells, levitate, mark and recall and intervention spells.

Are cities going to be open or closed for performance reasons.

So just a couple of questions, but I think other people will be interested in seeing at a glance a stickied post of all features that Skywind is going to offer over the original.

You mean as far as gameplay? I think the only thing from Skyrim we're keeping gameplay wise is the general AI and combat, as well as perks and enchants. We might add new enchantments and the original spells though, and we're obviously recreating all the equipment.

Cities will probably be open. They were open in Morroblivion (if I remember correctly), and there's no good way to make them closed here.
