Tutorial Creating Armors and Conversion of Armors

THis is a Tutorial for getting files from 3ds Max into skyrim format/ Creation kit. I will be covering Armors in this tutorial however this process does work with stuff like skins and creatures (we can have working creatures, but ill explain that later) --------------------------------------------------------- First off you are going to need the following   3DS max 2012: {link} Nif Import/Export Scripts for 3ds (2012): {link} NifSkope: {link} Creation kit Skyrim a Skyrim nif (included in zip file i upload) skeleton model (Included in zip file) A fair amount of knowledge about how textures and nifs work ----------------------------------------------------------   Once you have all the items i posted above ready, then you can begin conversion into skyrim format. Firstly Open 3ds max 2012, import the Skeleton with import skeleton option checked (pic) then import Body parts needed for what ever you are working on, (Chest for chest, feet for boots, left hand for left hand, right hand for right, etc.) This time Disable the Import skeleton option. (Pic) Then start building your armor around the body and skeleton.   Now comes the exporting part of this. firstly, select your armor (Warning only do one piece at a time!!!!), well once you have your piece selected, find your modifier list in the upper right hand side of the screen, scroll down and find Skin Wrap (pic) select skin wrap and this little box should appear below the modifier list there should be a box that says skins and should have an add/remove button, Select add, and click select by name. (Pic) then find the skyrim body piece that you imported earlier and double click it to select. Pic) Then go back to the box where you selected add and scroll down a ways and check "Weigh all points" then click the wrap skin or whatever it says,  Repeat this for every piece of armor. (Pic) Once finished with skin wrap, go to select by name again and while holding Ctrl click all of the pieces armor, (BE SURE TO NOT HAVE THE BODY SELECTED!) once you have all the armor pieces selected go back to your modifier list and select BSdismember. (Pic) then go to the top left hand corner and find export, wait for the options to appear on the sides and select "Export Selected" (Pic) Then select that you would like to save as a nif, Then a box should appear set it to skyrim format (At top) then check export skeleton so that it is on. (Pic) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once it is all exported, find the nif and open it up in NifSkope. (Next part is tricky, Read carefully) Then open the default skyrim nif i gave you in the zip file, you should now have 2 open nif files. (Pic) Expand the nif property tree (in Block List), then right click the BSShaderproperty and click copy branch, then drop it in your armor's property tree (in Block list). (Pic) then click on one of your armor pieces and find its NiTriShape select it, Then scroll down the block Details, at the very bottom is something called BS Properties, (Pic) expand it, then double click on BSLightingShaderProperty and change the number of it to match the number of the BSLightingShaderProperty you just put in the nif (Replacing it) (Pic) Next delete the old BSLightingShader Property and then expand the new one you replaced it with, and select the BSShaderTextureset (Pic) and in Block details replace the textures by selecting the cog thingy and selecting the new textures you want to have take its place. (Pic) now go to the BSDismember node (select it) and then go to block details, expand partitions, (Pic) now change the number/numbers to match whatever body part you want it to cover, (EX: if you are building a chest piece you will set the parts to 32) to match the body part list)   BODY PART # LIST 32-upperbody 49-lowerbody 33-leftHand 44-RightHand ??-boots ??-helmet ??-hair ??-Left pauldron ??-right pauldron ------------------------------ repeat until all piece are done, once you have done this to all pieces then you are ready to save and put in the CK.       WARNING: THIS POST IS GOING TO HAVE ALOT OF UPDATES AS I POST PICS, RENEW INFO, I WILL ADD THE PARTS OF WORKING IT CORRECTLY IN CK LATER! ENJOY GOING INSANE MAKING ARMORS HAHAHAH
