[RELZ] Eloth`s Skywind Landscape Textures

Downloading~ This should be fun to test out!

Thank you Eloth! Going to download dis sucka ASAP!

So it's just landscape so far, none of the beautiful buildings?

Yeah you need to replace as much of the old textures with new one so you dont run into problems.
What did you do to the Meshes, only texture path repointing or did you do more to tweak the effect?

damn, cannot download it

it says that it's a part of an archive, so I have to buy a premium to daownload it Oo

So... can we make Eloth's overhaul textures and meshes mandatory/part of the main download this time around?

Because Eloth makes stuff look so much better than vanilla... that improvement distances us from the origional and so technically makes it more legal and more beautiful at the same time, right?

google docs works now eloth use that  they don't ever delete anything.

mediafire has really started to suck these days

+1 :)

I downloaded them, and I don't know if I explored enough to see a difference. I've been trying to fix up the master file mainly. Does it fix the evil purple spots? If so, I still see them.

It might be my install, Skywind Beautification never worked for me either. I could see the grass in CK, but not ingame. The trees worked fine, but the music never played.

eloth,I tried fixing the purple spots,by trying to edit the cells and regions affected in the CK.

But if I click on "edit this Cell" or "edit this region" the region editing window pops up,but as soon as I try to do anything like changing the texture my CK gives a MS error and crashes out.

I tried doing it in TES5Edit but even though the texture is changed it still looks the same in the game.

Where am I going wrong.?

And if the original texture is txugludirtu01 why is it not showing up as that in game even if I change it.?

I still think that the CK is full of bugs,it is certainly holding me back, because if it worked properly we would be making a lot more progress .

File worked like a charm for me. Solstheim looks a lot better. Does that remove every single purple spot?

Cheers! eloth,I figured it out and did the Balmora purple spots, but your file will save me doing the rest, thanks!.:)

I will merge that in.less loose esps that way.

Btw,I am regenerating a new morrowind world, but only incase we really need it.

Make sure to disable skywind beautification after u install these, so that way you can see his new textures.

This looks very nice Eloth, I can't wait to try it out.   :)

Though we really need to find some way of getting your updated meshes and textures uploaded as they are very, very sorely needed.  Perhaps you could just upload them directly to the Morroblivion Server, and have somebody else post the links and install instructions?

Erm if you pm me the stuff, I'll post it and host it.

Woah what's going on here. I downloaded your lanscape textures eloth and Skywind Overhaul and now Morrowind looks like this:

Looks like there is some sort of a landmass over the world now. Any ideas what this is? Thanks.

Looks like an LOD issue since it's affecting your map. Maybe try re-downloading Shadow's LOD. I'm not exactly sure how that happened.

Hmm and now there are purple spots all over the ground in Cyrodiil where there weren't any before :( what caused this? I don't know which one, I'm guessing the overhaul that asked me to overwrite so many files. Now I need to figure out how to fix this.

And I'm not sure if it's just an LOD issue, since you can actually see the landmass over Morrowind when you're outside of the map as well.

Sounds like some of your textures and meshes are messed up. I'm not sure why, because I'm using Skywind and Skyblivion with the overhaul and they work fine together. You don't have any mods enabled do you?

Also realized I had skywind beautification installed. I disabled the esp though, but the textures and meshes are still there. So it could of been that? But the post in eloth's thread said just to disable the esp.

Looks really amazing!!! Thanks to you eloth!) and Thanks Mehh for uploading =)

ps I've noticed only 1 issue - land textures. They look definitely better than before. But anyway, they are to "blocky" (tiles). And looks not really good, compare to Skyrim's, is it possible to solve it?

Thank you eloth, that fixed the landmass over Morrowind, but do you now if any of your textures conflict with the skyblivion files? I have purple patches all over cyrodiil now. Thanks!

Actually, in regards to Ramms comment.  These have to be THE BEST land textures I have ever seen, I literally can't stop staring at the ground. Good work Eloth.  :)

A couple are very slightly blocky, but they still match or exceed the quality given to us by vanilla Skyrim.  So they definitely aren't a problem in my book.

Yeah, the ground textures are indeed really good! I noticed that while testing out the overhaul mod.

Btw there's a similar mod replacing vanilla skyrim ground textures:

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4964

Hmm I'm not sure what's wrong with my install. Did a clean install of all the textures, meshes.

So all of the Skywind meshes/texures, then all of the Skyblivion meshes/textures, then any other meshes and textures that come with any mods (including this), then Skyrim HD 2k textures. It worked fine before I installed both this and skywind overhaul.

And ontop of that, this is what solstheim looks like for the most part, no snow:

I really don't know what I did wrong. Is anyone having a similar problem?

@Suade

eloth

This release contains all landscape textures of Skywind, except Solstheim.

I'm aware of this RammS, however I am pretty sure Solstheim didn't look like this before I installed these textures. If I recall correctly, there was some snow on the ground.

But if it looks like this for everyone then that is fine. Just want to make sure this isn't a problem on my end, as I do have some trouble with Cyrodiil at the moment.

Had morroblivion running smoothly but decided to do a clean install on skyrim, oblivion and morrowind recently. Only used the 10b converter for morroblivion, the oblivion texture folder (with no morroblivion install), the lod and the compled skyrim etc folders to set up morroblivion, came up with a similar situation to your most recent pic. just purple spots in a few locations, the occasional purple fence, invisible doors, map shows clouds but no lod (though in-game skywind lod is fine) and no grass. aside from that all is ok. using the provided plugins in this thread fixed most of the issues.

To enable lod on the map add this to your skyrim.ini under [MapMenu]:

[MapMenu]
uLockedObjectMapLOD=8
uLockedTerrainLOD=8

Suade & anyone having problem with possible conflicts between the textures of SkyWind & OblivSky,when both projects are nearer to completion the textures will proberly be put into BSA files that link to the master esm folder for each world,so at that time each mod will only use the textures alloted to it.

Sounds wonderful, I will no longer have a jumbled mess of files, can't wait! When you say near completion, does this mean sometime soon or when almost everything is completed and a playable beta is out?

Suade,It is hard say when,I guess that depends on how well the different things progress, but as the final packaging using bsa files where possible must be done on a fully working project,at a wild guess I would say sometime after Feb 2013 for Skywind, but not sure about the Oblivion project.

I like new landscape textures, but one thing irritates me.

Some of them have a distinctive repetitive pattern when looking from a distance. Can they be smoothed somehow? Maybe less details, less contrast.

I'd noticed that too Zilav, but I think that once grass is added, that problem will pretty much disappear.  It never really bothered me with the old master and grass plugin.

The Download isn't working anymore. Any reason why?

It isn't required anymore?  It was merged into the main texture archive quite awhile ago actually. :)

Ahhh yes, well that definitely explains it. Thanks :P

I might hold off on downloading though.  The mesh and texture folders are getting a complete restructuring for the next v.05 release.

The new system will be very organized like the vanilla Oblivion or Skyrim formats, and will all be contained in a Morrowind folder to allow for easy installation or removal.
