Why Did You Become a Morroblivion Member?

As part of Vivec's off topic initiative, ;) I'd like to ask you why you made the move from guest to member on this site. A lot of guests will just download the files and skidadle. What made you stick around? What made you keep coming back?

I usually only become a member of a site i like. Morroblivion was something that i find out accidently and oh boy i was pleasantly suprised, offcourse Morroblivion was hardly playable back then. Also the community was one reason for staying here for longer times, community rocks! Hmmm, what else...well i found out that my help was appreciated so now im random helper around here, making mods or testing out other peoples works...i guess thats about it. Happy to be here :)

The weed and the

The weed and the bitches.

Bug's started it, this game was fairly hard to keep playing without encountering the occasional game/questbreaking variety, checking that consistently for a fix will instill the need to fix other peoples problems, and schooling the occasional noob combine that with a friendly atmosphere and a noble cause and you get a pretty nice place.

I came back the first time

I came back the first time for a bug fix. Then to ask if Morroblivion wanted to use a mod I had made. Turns out they didn't, lol. But, when I asked about my bug fixes, people I dubbed 'Tes Nexus Celebrities' started answering my questions. That and the updates that came often made me come to the site more often. After time I realized how active the site is; its a place where the people that are doing the 'big' stuff are willing to help you out. It's been really fun for me because this is a place where good modders are willing to listen to your questions and help you solve your issues. We have an intellegent community that's willing to help. We have a solid community here. And its also really cool to see how much the game has been improved. Stuff happens here. :D

Woot!

I became a member here because I know drupal backwards and forwards, and I figured I could use those skills to benefit a project that I really want to see completed. Since then I've developed basic modding skills as well, which has been interesting.  Some of the scripting I've learned has been very helpful in my real life job too.

Well, my first post is

Well, my first post is probably the reason I decided to sign up on the forum ... had some texture problem from what I can tell.

I sticked around because the team working on Morroblivion at that time (MOTF) had just disbanded and left due to internal conflicts ... and a few new guys (including myself) got together to try to build a new team and save the project ... but we never really got anything important done (except for being among the few who ever tried out Morroblivion.com's chat room :p ) so lets just forget about it.

Anyways, shortly after that, David Budrek, Eloth, Yoshimo and Queen of the Ashlands joined the project and made it what it is today, and I had to come back again and again to see Morroblivion slowly turn from a creature-less, quest-less, dialouge-less, Script-less, limb-less, WTF mark filled mod to a fairly playable experience... while also trying to help out wherever I could.

Reddit is what clued me into

Reddit is what clued me into this amazing feat of technology.  And I wanted to become a member to help with whatever I could, even if I don't know how to mod (though I'd like to learn so pointers are nice)... so Basically all I can do is make videos and report stuff I found in error haha

Also, if you want to see the videos on morroblivion that I have done, just google InsectEmu8

Thermador: At first glance my

Thermador: At first glance my mind filled in some blanks and I thought you said "I became a member here because I know how to do a quaddrupal backwards and forwards flip". That seems reason enough for me! lol

What's your real life job, if you don't mind me asking. I'm a full time college student on a full time summer break.

Hashmi: I've had some weird shadows on grass, and sometimes objects freak out like they have a shadow and then are perfectly lit, I'm thinking based on your first post thread that maybe I need to reinstall default shaders.... lol that's kind of neat finding a possible fix from such an old post.

InsectEmu8: I watched part of one of your videos, where Caius hadn't been voiced yet. I liked the irish accent, lol. You should seriously think about doing some voice over work. It doesn't take much modding knowledge, you don't seem to be afraid to get into a character, and we could really use the help!

@InsectEmu8

I've seen pretty much all your videos. They present Morroblivion in a fun, honest, and really comical way. You crack me up in pretty much every video. Keep up the good work. I'm sure when people see it, they'll want to check out Morroblivion.

The main reason I keep coming

The main reason I keep coming back here is because it`s a great project and every member trys to help with it within thier different skill levels.

I am good at programming but only good for minor quest and audio stuff [like messing with voice files].

I am retired and like to try to help with worthwhile projects, and morroblivion is a really cool worthwhile project in my book.

And this forum has a great group of friendly members, who really try to get the work done.

Wait a sec ironman how old

Wait a sec ironman how old are you? :D Retired!!!

By the way my reason of membership is probably this was my one of my dreams. Just after I've finished Oblivion in 2007, when I had no info of Galadrille, converter, even the existence of mods, I said "Dude, it would have been so cool if I could play Morrowind in Oblivion engine." When I had the chance to achive my dream, it would have been stupid to reject it.

  I've been a member since

I've been a member since 2008. I orginally joined here when CNME was the premier morroblivion mod. CNME died a natural death and this version of the mod became the only one left.  This site almost died several times but since it's resurrection and continued improvement, it has become the one morroblivion site everyone goes to in order to download morroblivion.

At one point I thought I might help with morroblivion but decided you don't need any new people mucking things up, and my real life doesn't give me  time to do much work with Blender, So now I just watch.

I came here because I liked

I came here because I liked the idea of playing morrowind straight through oblivion without changing game engines. I had morrowind forever but never really played it as the graphics were so bad in comparison to Oblivion I just couldn't bring myself to play it long enough to finish it. Once I was here and playing the game I saw that there was some room for improvement in a few area's that I could lend a hand in (namely fixing the clothing) so I offered to help. Now here I am :)

I really liked the idea of

I really liked the idea of linking the two worlds up. Then I had a bit of a play and started thinking things like "I wonder if it'd be possible to re-texture the oblivion clothing meshes to look like Morrowind's clothes?", checked out the forums here to see if anyone had already attempted it, and then found that I wanted in on the conversations. And here we are. :)

When I was young our

When I was young our grandfather spent over a $1000 on a computer that would 'last us through college' (or so the story goes).  I think it was a 400mgz processer with 64mb ram and 6 gigs or less of hard drive space, lol.

That's as far back as I can go. :p

I came here  because I love

I came here  because I love morrowind and the though of seeing what everything would look like in oblvion tickled my fancy. I have played morrowind ever since I was 13 and ten years later I still love the game, it will always have a permenent spot on my harddrive.

I also want to help as best as  I can my knowledge is pretty limited but I know enough about blender and gimp, I also encourge everybody to play morrowind, especially you dave :P

I created an account simply

I created an account simply because this mod is amazing.  I'm a massive Oblivion fan and wanted to experience Morrowind too - I've never played it before.  Ive heard some say that Morrowind is better than oblivion but I didn't want to play it with outdated graphics - Morroblivion is the solution! Other Oblivion TC mods don't do it for me, so far this mod is delivering the goods.

Good Work All :D

My First computer was a Spectrum 16k, but the I really saw the light when I got my first Atari St and then the amazing Amiga 500/600/1200 series'.  Good times!

WOW! those system names are

WOW! those system names are like poetry to my ears:

ZX80/81,BBC,Atari,Commodore VIC20/64,Spectrum,Amstad,Pet [Commodore word processor],but the best one for video and graphics work imo was the VIC20 and its dedicated modulator and video monitor that you could link to an old BetaMax or VHS video recorder.

No Microsoft OS needed with that lot as each had it`s own built in or loadable OS [for example the workbench for the VIC20 or C64 and the Amiga had a simular OS].And with sometimes a mere 64Kbs of RAM you could do more than 4Gbs can today.:)

i became a member mostly for

i became a member mostly for good conversation with hardcore elder scrolls fans. most other ES forums are kids on xboxes. and no flame control. here, the flames tend to be entertaing and informative, with only a few people trollin. if i had more knowledge, i could help. but, alas, i'm just a "tester". this has got to be to greatest mod ever, for any game. and if it wasn't for business mumbo jumbo, i would petition bethesda to publish morroblivion officially.
