I'm researching problems of intellectual property rights (especially software piracy). I want to know your opinion about ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement). May be you have heared something from media etc. I have already done studying this trade agreement and make some decisions about it. Tell me please what point of view do you have, why and what kind of implications of this agreement. I am interested in your opinion as a person, not scientists. This isgood or bad trade agreement etc.
When I've read all of your opinions, I'll give my scientific point of view with the arguments =)

Intellectual property rights in my opion is a matter concerning the buying of and using software [I am applying this answer to only software].
For example in my opion,if a program has lots of bugs and needs work to make it run as it should then in my opion it is not a completed program, therefore if the buyer completes the program making it work properly then he/she should be given intellectual property rights to that program,as the original should be declared a non usable product, and should not have been sold under copyright.
I hope I have understood the reason for this thread correctly.?
thanks for the answer
yes, but not only intellectual property rights is the main object=)
The main object is ACTA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Counterfeiting_Trade_Agree...)
And protests against this trade agreement. Such as http://www.stopacta.info/
This infographic explains it pretty well - old media companies who were too slow to adapt to a changing industry (invention, popularity, and widespread use of high-speed internet to deliver content) are trying to save themselves with secret negotiations and treaties.

Also, this pretty much explains the problem, and why media companies are resorting to ACTA.
Where did you find these pics of me? :D
Thanks thermador =)
I was gonna make a comment, but .. there may be children present.
