Minor Bug: Khajiit slaves talk like Argonians when asked about the Twin Lamps

Submitted by LoneWolfEburg on

When asked about the Twin Lamps, Khajiit slaves reply

"I don't know if they really exist <...> Before you arrived, I never though I would ever see Argonia again".

This is caused by the line in question being unconditioned for race. Adding a GetIsRace=Argonian condition makes Khajiit slaves say the appropriate thing ("This one knows only rumours. They take us back to Elsweyr").

Also, is Orvas Dren supposed to attack the players who enter his villa on his plantation, due to his low responsibility? I get that he isn't the friendliest inhabitant of Morrowind, but this is a little extreme.

Thanks for the report.

No, Orvas Dren shouldn't be initially agressive.

Thank you for the fast response. Then Orvas' responsibility should be set to 50.

Another Camonna Tong with Low Responsibility issue: this lady (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Selvura_Andrano), who was busy sweeping the entrance to the shack when I've met her, attacked me when I attempted to talk with her. Now, I get that she's Camonna Tong, and I'm a Redoran Imperial Legionnaire, but this lady has no armor and her bare fists as a weapon, turning her into a Camonna Tong member with a death wish. It would be fine if she was holed up in the shack and attacked intruder players, but she goes out to sweep the entrance to it.

It's also weird that this lady (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Dandsa) was disposition 0 and had a frowny face when I rescued her, but this is a result of her being in the Bandit faction in order for the bandits not to attack her. If it's fixable, than it definitely needs to be changed, but if it would be difficult to fix, than it's fine as it is (she doesn't actually attack the player).

It is not the Responsibilty that controls NPC hostility, but a combination of Aggression and Disposition. Responsibility controls crime reporting.

Orvas Dren's Aggression is 5, so he shouldn't attack even with low disposition. Did he just attack you as soon as you entered the manor?

Selvura Adrano's Aggression is not actually a bug - she had Fight 50 in Morrowind, so she's supposed to attack player with low disposition. I agree however that it becomes silly with her added AI, so I'm gonna change it I think.

The last one can be fixed with some faction adjustments. To be honest, factions in Morroblivion need an overhaul of sorts, but it's a big job. Facial expressions for dialogue aren't used most of the time, even where they could be, because dialogue lines were converted automatically and Morrowind didn't have such data.

Strange. If I set Orvas' responsibility to 30, he attacks me on sight. Once I set it to 50, he doesn't. Just tested it two times.

I remember attempting to play Morroblivion some months ago on an old computer, and Orvas also attacked my player character on sight.

Responsibility does affect some stuff beyond crime reporting, like stealing food. Not sure what else it affects, but apparently, it can affect people like Orvas.

Also, all these goodies in Orvas' manor (see pic, taken with his resp. set to 50, of course) should be flagged as belonging to him. I can hardly see him giving out Ebony and Daedric armor to random people.

Responsibility also affects disposition. Disposition in conjunction with Aggression and Personality affect if the NPC attacks the player. Orvas is in the Camonna Tong which further decreases disposition towards the player if he is in the wrong factions. However I think the real problem are the Ienith brothers in the basement with an aggression value of 100. They will immediately start combat and Orvas Dren will try to help them. They can't get through the locked doors though, so only Orvas will actually fight you. If you sneak into the building or use an invisibility spell Orvas won't attack by himself.
