Corrupt Savegames | Morroblivion

I play with v064 the Fighter Guild and Thieves Guild parallel. I am Warder in the FG and Ringleader in the TG. Current quests are TG Books for Vala and FG Lirielle's debt.

Now I have the problem that when I take these quests, the game crashes when loading a savegame. It is deffinitv the quests because I can load previous save games and the same happens wen I accept the quest Speak With Percius by Jim Stacey.

Can you repair the savegame somehow? I do not want to lose my progress. [External image]

First off, never use use quicksaves. They are known to cause corrupt savegames. The same goes for autosaves. Secondly, there should be a quicksave.obse file which stores OBSE variables which are important for the savegame to function properly.

Once a save is corrupted there's usually not much you can do but go back to an older save and remove mods that might cause a corruption. There's also a couple of things that can cause a save to get corrupted, like too many items in the inventory or just random bad luck.

As for your mods, the keychain mod is suspected to cause corrupt savegames after a many hours of gameplay. I was also once able to narrow a corrupt savegame down to this mod.

You should probably load a save from a while back (maybe an hour or 2) and continue from there. If you only use quicksave there should be a quicksave.bak and a quicksave.obse.bak file in your save folder. Rename them to quicksave.ess and quicksave.obse. From now on, save regularly and only use the menu to save your game.

I now use an earlier savegame without keychain mod. Is it any further problems still exist I sign up again.

Edit: Ok it was up to keychain mod. Without I can continue playing normally.
