Question about Morroblivion for FCOM

Submitted by VonBarb on
...or the opposite :D Hi I'm new here, just found out about this great project. I'm re-playing through Oblivion -again- this time running Fcom and a bunch of other mods and I am curious about how this particular modification would integrate with FCOM. As I understand it - note that my understanding of Oblivion modding is very superficial - Morroblivion adds new equipment and locations away from Cyrodill, so it shouldn't conflict with anything that edits the Cyrodill area and/or default Oblivion quests and NPCs, right ? That said, I read somewhere on these pages that creatures/monsters from Morrowind were replaced by default/third party Oblivion monsters in Morroblivion, and that could potentially conflict with some parts of Fcom (MMM and Fran's mods come to mind first), correct ? Are there specific Fcom and Morroblivion features or contents that would overlap, causing unwanted adverse effects on either mod ? Using the search function brought up some threads but none provided any concrete or detailed answer to my queries. There just seems to be a few people here who've found a way to play both mods, so I was hoping these people could comment on how they managed to achieve this and provide a few helpful tricks and some advice on how to go about running Fcom with Morroblivion. I'm not exactly Oblvion modding litterate, but I know my way around OBMM and Wrye Bash. I've always wanted to play Morrowind, but discovered the TES universe with Oblivion and could simply not go back to older graphics/engine after having been spoiled by Oblivion's graphics and system (I know, sacrificing gameplay for eyecandy is low...) It's even worse now that I'm running Fcom, which takes Oblivion to a whole new level of awesomeness, and so this mod and the ability to merge it with Fcom is my last chance to play the Morrowind quests before I -no doubt- get sucked in by Skyrim. Cheers Nico PS : not familiar with this place yet, so my apologies if this was posted in the wrong section of the forums.

Sorry for the delay, but I have answered this already, and it is tiresome answering the same questions over and over again. Morrowind_ob.esm is in it's own worldspace and does not conflict with anything. I personally have FCOM installed, MMM, OOO, Fran, etc., plus all the Unique Landscapes, and most of the big quest mods, I am very near the 255 mod limit, and would have been over it except that I merged 33 Patches into one mod. There are no conflicts between Morroblivion and FCOM. However, as I have said elsewhere, Morrowind -IS- an Oblivion mod, and as such is succeptable, like any other Oblivion mod, to other mods that are installed after it. Like Deadly Reflex, for instance, that somebody else just had experience with...

Very good thinking Thermador! That never even occurred to me, thank you.

Thank you for taking the time David. I understand how this must have been asked and answered many times already, but as I mentionned, the search function only gave me very vague and incomplete answers. Your post just fixed that, and adding this to the FAQ will certainly help others in the same situation. Going to try Morroblivion ASAP, once I remember where I stashed my Morrowind CDs... :D Cheers Nico
