I am a 29 year old QA consultant working in Sogeti, a major international consulting house. I am an ISTQB certified tester, with experience working for several different sectors including banking, the government, debt collection, power companies, postal and logistics and railroad operations. I've worked as a Functional tester, a Technical tester, Test manager/Testing lead and developer (Robotic Process Automation). I've got experience from Waterfall, Agile and DevOps projects.
I've got experience working on the client side in UAT and with Reg tests, and on the developer side with Unit/ST and SIT phases. I've worked on major projects (300+ people involved, QA team of 50), and on small teams (5 people, half a tester).
I want to join the TES Renewal project because Skyrim and Morrowind are my two favourite games. I've wanted to play Skyblivion and Skywind for years, and I've come to the conclusion that sitting and waiting for them to complete isn't enough. I want to help make sure they ship.
I've been looking to do some game development testing to see how it differs (if at all) from the business world. If I could, I would move to the US to work for Bethesda.
Knowledge of TES:
I've spent my fair share of time on the UESP wiki, and I've put over 300 hours into Skyrim. I've not put quite that much time into Morrowind, but certainly over 50 hours.
Availability:
I could see myself putting in 4-8 hours a week. More at times if required.
Papyrus:
I've not done any dev work in it, but I've read the primer. It's easy to read, which is nice for debugging. I could brush up on this fairly easily.
Tools:
I've worked with most of the major bug tracking/development tools, including JIRA/Confluence, Bugzilla, TFS, Trello and HP ALM/QC. I've got experience in coding, mostly test automation in .NET (VB and C#) and Java. I'm usually the guy on the team that tackles any complicated calculations and creating simple testing tools, which I'm sure will come in handy when testing game mechanics. I've also worked with Eclipse and Visual Studio. I've played around a little with the CK, but not to any major degree.
Language:
I'm experienced with working with a distributed and or multilingual team. One of my previous projects had 3 time zones and the test team was on 10 different locations. I speak fluent English and Norwegian. I'm passable at Swedish and Danish.
Other skills:
I'm a decent saxophonist and clarinetist if the music department needs any of that.
