Crashing Issues

Submitted by Myusha on

I downloaded all the necessary files, and did the complete installation process with version V.29

I mainly wanted to complete the Main Quest, and a few guilds before heading to Cyrodiil. But this is what I've encountered as a problem.

Kogoruhn, Corprusarium, The Sixth House Base and the Waterworks where the Khajiit associate is have crashed for me. Usually I bypass it via console, but overall it's ruining the experience if I can't go two or three quests without crashing to my desktop.

Is it fixed with the newest version?  Is there some potential mod out there to fix this? Is this a common result of screwing something up with installation?

Overall my biggest goal is to get to Dagoth Ur's final encunter and savour the epic finale, but there's the idea that it may crash before I even get there.

Overall the Mod itself is extremely good and stays true to the Morrowind experience but giving it a tint of Oblivion. And Vivec was astounding visually.

The text of my Main Post has been updated with the following: If you experience seemingly random crashes (usually in the wilderness) then this is because of Cell Buffer Overrun, NOT something inherently wrong with cell XYZ. Oblivion was simply not designed to encompass Morrowind and all it's Denezins. However, by doing three things, I have all but eliminated these crashes. By doing these three things, I have gotten Oblivion back to it's normal level of "stability." 1. Purge Cell Buffers Mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9139 >>> Set to Purge with Every Cell, NOT just Loading. 2. Disable "View Distant Land" under Options. 3. Walk, don't run. I can crash the game at will by running, and it does not take very long. I personally believe that these crashes are because of the enormous number of creatures in the large Morrowind Worldspace that taxes the Oblivion Game engine to the breaking point. I do Not believe it is because of trees, as some others have suggested. Point number three is, of course, the hardest for me to do, being an inherently impatient person :) But, by doing these three things, I have gone from crashing every few minutes, to as I indicated, Oblivion's normal level of "stability."

I'll attempt this shortly, but this was entering builds, not problems with creatures. XD

It is all, inherently, the same issue with the Oblivion Cell Buffers not clearing properly. Since doing the above, I NEVER crash going into or coming out of buildings any more...

Didn't work.

And my game doesn't crash from running just to let you know.

Something else, I just used Oldbilvion to make it possible to go to these areas but Dagoth's minions are missing meshes. I used the complete installation files! Just reinstalled them too! What the hell!

I REALLY want to finish this but how can I if the file's missing the meshes....

[Agrrivated Mood activate! XD]
