Feralwaffle skywind first impressions

Submitted by Feralwaffle on

finaly got skywind installed thanks to happychappy

got into the game everything runs as scripted but with no voices you kinda just have to wait around while everything happens.

the first thing i noticed on the ship was the fact that the doorway out was being coverd by the fact the boat was moving but the door stayed where it was i think that can be solved by a simple unclick of a button, but i havent touched the creation kit for a while so i could be wrong also the chests boxes and outter doorway have the same issue the stay in the same state while the boat moved over them.. very odd

the game continued on going through the motions,., me waiting while things happend.. luckly i remember morrowind enough that i could click the correct dialouge boxes in the begining to get me through doors... theres a female guard that my friend doesnt remember but i feel like i do, i attacked her of course because obviously she was an intruder.. turns out she.. and for whatever multiple other female npcs  has a voice that im assuming was put into the game by one of our very own voice actors... a male voice actorso that was kinda funny.

i left the offices grabbing the ring on my way out,, finished that quest kinda,,, walked around town revisited that house with the old dunmer woman i usually killed so i could have a home base. walked into the field where that elf used to fall,,,, i did not see him fall or hear him scream,, or find his body,, super disapointed... also no clif racers... i kind of expected that... i saw lots of rats.. but for whatever reason maybe i missed it i didnt see a stilt strider outside of that starting city i saw one later in balmora but i did not see any kind  stilt strider rider or whatever you want to call them. i had a hard time walking up any stairs,, whats up with that..  the worst stairs are in vivec on the way to kill the god i got stuck where the stairs meets that open water way... the stairs just stopped being stairs and started being a hole...

the last part i still need to do research on... i remember vivec in his room with the circles leading up to him and him being high above me,, not just because he was levitating.. in the room i was just in the circles were leading down to him and he was on a small triangle below me...

anywho thats my first impression of the game for the twenty odd minutes i played ill be doing some paying of the original game before i screw with any meshes,,, but soon ill be helping on deveopment.

Yeah, we know about the boat floating and the barrels and such not, we actually have a solution for that. The rats are placeholders, we have a Cliffracer model, but it isn't rigged properly or w/e.

To fix the dialog and not wait 20 minutes for the npc to speak, just download Foh Ros Doh, in the future it'll be fixed when we actually have proper voiced dialog. We'd probably have the entire first quest voiced but the guy in charge of that kinda had his pc blow up, lols.

Oh, and as for the guy who falls and dies, yeah, that's actually a scripted quest that hasn't been finished yet, but we do have a "jump around the world spell" ready for it.

For the stilt striders to appear, you need to have dragonborn loaded.

as far as the voice acting goes i just need to get my recording mic back from my friend. its pretty legit, i was wondering if there was anyway me and two of my friends could just go ahead and voice all of the starter people from the boat to the census office i mean the questionaire alone will take a while to speak but id be willing to do it just to get that part out of the way. voice acting is actually more up my ally than meshes.. not that im not willing to do said meshes, im just better prepared and more experienced in the voice acting department.

You should head up to the sticky thread about voice acting, I think the NPC you list are already claimed.

Also we will not do the full morrowind questionnaire (if you mean the "long situation description - what would you do") as it doesn't make sense with Skyrim's mechanisms.

yeah i suppose your right about the questionaire not making sense.... i mean,,, maybe .. i dunno part of me wants to keep it in there but instead of it deciding stats it gives you gear depending on your answers,,, i know thats alot to do because of how creating quests work ... i dunno maybe look back about doing it,, because i know alot of people would love it being there
