Because original converter
Because original converter produced esm as result and that's what project started with.
And because before CSE it was much easier to create mods with esm as a master.
And because TES4Gecko's "Merge to master" function doesn't support esp masters.
And because we now have large number of mods which are dependant on that master.
Do I need to continue?
The ONLY issue with esm, is that it needs to be loaded second, thanks to a bug in Oblivion engine.
